Senator DeFrancisco and LadiesAuxiliary of OCVFA President, Gen Blair, kicked off Blue Light Night Celebration. The blue lights honor all Volunteer Firemen who give their lives to protect and serve Central New York.
Senator John DeFrancisco attended the unveiling of the "New York Remembers" exhibit at the Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science & Technology in Syracuse. On display is a battalion chief car from the FDNY headquarters at Metrotech in Brooklyn. Several FDNY battalion chiefs were lost on 9/11.
Standing outside the Onondaga County Justice Center in Syracuse, State Senator John A. DeFrancisco paid tribute to local firefighters and sheriff's deputies who have died in the last year. The memorial service was held on May 17, 2012.

The ISO reaches its award classification based on a detailed review of multiple facets that include administrative operations, training programs, handling of fire alarms, water supply throughout the district, and appropriate use of rescue verses fire apparatus.
