Senator John A. DeFrancisco (R-I-C, Syracuse) today announced that a bill (S5661) he cosponsored, to empower citizens and local officials to significantly reduce the size and cost of local government, has passed the New York State Senate. The legislation was first initiated by Attorney General Andrew Cuomo.

The bill, which I cosponsored, passed the New York State Senate and Assembly, and was signed into law by the Governor.
Senator John A. DeFrancisco (R-I-C, Syracuse) announced that his bill (S3250A), which creates a Syracuse Regional Airport Authority, has been signed into law by Governor Andrew Cuomo. The law takes effect immediately. “This new entity will allow the airport to function more like a business and find ways to operate more efficiently,” said Senator DeFrancisco.
State Senator John A. DeFrancisco joined other elected officials from Cayuga County for a press conference at the Sennett Town Hall on August 1, 2013. The press conference was held to discuss the Sennett Taxpayers Rebate Program, which Governor Cuomo signed into law. Through the program, residents and business owners in the Town of Sennett will receive a $100 rebate check, as the result of a surplus in sales tax revenue. Senator DeFrancisco was a co-sponsor of the legislation.
