Senator DeFrancisco Announces His 8th Annual Senior Fair

State Senator John A. DeFrancisco is hosting his 8th annual FREE Senior Fair on Thursday, September 27, 2012, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.  It will be held in the Horticulture Building at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse.

Senator DeFrancisco invites all Central New York senior citizens and their family members to browse informational displays from more than 80 exhibitors.  Seniors can gather valuable information about programs and services to help them answer some of the challenging questions about long term care, health care, recreation, transportation, and much more.  Local health professionals will also be on hand to provide free health screenings.

Senator DeFrancisco Hosts His Annual Senior Fair

Several hundred senior citizens from throughout Central New York attended Senator John DeFrancisco's annual Senior Fair at the New York State Fairgrounds on September 27, 2012.  Nearly 90 exhibitors were stationed under one roof to provide seniors with valuable information on various programs and services.  Local health professionals also offered free health screenings.  Entertainment was provided by the Mickey Vendetti band.  Senator DeFrancisco would like to thank all of the vendors who made this year's Senior Fair a success and all of the seniors who attended.

Senator DeFrancisco Chats with RSVP Volunteers During the Catholic Charities Recognition Brunch

On October 23, 2012, State Senator John A. DeFrancisco attended the Catholic Charities Recognition Brunch for more than 500 Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) volunteers, who serve about 70 non-profit organizations.  The event was held at Barbagallo's Restaurant.

Senator DeFrancisco Celebrates the 15th Anniversary of PACE CNY

Senator John A. DeFrancisco helped cut the first piece of cake in celebration of PACE CNY's 15th anniversary.  He is pictured with PACE Director Penny Abulencia, St. Joseph's Hospital President Kathy Ruscitto and Loretto President Bruce Buchanan.  PACE CNY offers all-inclusive homecare to elderly residents living in Onondaga County.

Senator DeFrancisco was instrumental in the startup of PACE CNY.  In 1994, he sponsored legislation that authorized the Department of Social Services to contract for chronic care management programs, allowing Loretto to move forward with PACE operations. 

PACE CNY held a 15th Anniversary Celebration on May 8, 2013, at its Sally Coyne Center in North Syracuse.

Senator DeFrancisco Holds 9th Annual Senior Fair

State Senator John A. DeFrancisco held his 9th annual Senior Fair at the New York State Fairgrounds Horticulture Building on September 24, 2013.  There were nearly 100 exhibitors that provided information to more than 1,000 senior citizens who attended this free event.  Senator DeFrancisco is pictured with members from Crouse Hospital.  

Senator DeFrancisco Sings Carols to Seniors at the Silver Fox Senior Social Club Holiday Celebration

State Senator John A. DeFrancisco joined in singing Christmas carols at the Silver Fox Senior Social Club December 16, 2013.  Senator DeFrancisco was a special guest at the annual celebration, which brings local elementary students and seniors together for a holiday party.
