Like you, I am appalled at some of what I see happening in Albany. That is why I have put party politics aside and worked in a bi-partisan fashion, even against the leaders of my own party, in an effort to clean up Albany.
* I believe that members of the State Legislature who are under investigation for Federal or State criminal violations should not be able to stay in leadership positions in government, and should have the perks of their office taken from them until the investigation is resolved. I was the only Senator to call for the removal of former Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno, when it was announced that Bruno was under Federal investigation.

On Saturday, Aug. 14th, 2010 I participated in the 82nd Sullivan County Volunteer Firefighter's Association Parade in Bloominburg, NY. I also presented the Bloomingburg Fire Dept. with a NYS Senate Proclamation commemorating their 75th Anniversary. Pictured with me are members of the Bloomingburg Fire Company.
On Thursday, July 8th, 2010 Senator Bonacic attended and spoke at The Birches at Chambers Community Dedication Ceremony. The Birches at Chambers is a state-of-the-art, affordable senior living community located in the Town of Ulster.

On Friday, June 11th, 2010, Senator Bonacic attended the Action Toward Independence of Orange & Sullivan Open House in Middletown, NY. Action Toward Independence provides services and assistance to people with disabilities in Orange and Sullivan counties. The event showcased ATI's programs — advocacy for people with disabilities, a prescription drug program for people with disabilities who are on Medicaid, and a new computer lab.
On Sunday, June 27th, 2010 Senator Bonacic attended and spoke at a ribbon-cutting and naming of the building ceremony at the Joseph Y. Resnick Airport located between the Village of Ellenville and the Hamlet of Napanoch. The building will house a Substation for the Ulster County Sheriff's Office, as well as a modular terminal building.
On Thursday, June 24th, 2010 Senator Bonacic traveled from Albany to meet with New York City DEP Commissioner Caswell "Cas" Holloway who accepted Senator Bonacic's invitation to speak to the homeowner's of the Town of Wawarsing who are victims of the New York City aqueduct leak.
On Friday, June 11th, 2010 Senator Bonacic was invited to speak at a groundbreaking ceremony for the Partition Street Project for a proposed hotel and conference center with an opening reception to follow held at the Kiersted House, Saugerties.

On Friday, June 4th, 2010 Senator Bonacic awarded the New York State Liberty Medal posthumously to the family of Marine Cpl. Nick Uzenski, 21, who died in combat in Afghanistan. Senator Bonacic is pictured with Nick's mother, Lisa Uzenski and his grandmother, Audrey Archibald.
On Friday, June 4th, 2010 Senator Bonacic attended the Sidney Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner Meeting. Senator Bonacic presented Kyle Westcott with a New York State Senate Proclamation in recognition of being the recipient of the 2010 Citizen of the Year Award by the Sidney Chamber of Commerce.
On Friday, June 4th, 2010 Senator Bonacic attended the ground breaking ceremony for the emergency department expansion at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY. The Senate allocated, at my request $2.5 million for this project.
