On January 27th, 2010 Senator Bonacic met with SUNY New Paltz President Steve Poskanzer at the SUNY New Paltz Campus to discuss the new business plan proposed by Governor Paterson and the effects it will have on SUNY Universities.

Senator Bonacic attended The Hall of Fame Tribute Dinner which was held on February 27th, 2010 at the Hillside Manor honoring four individuals who have made an enormous impact on the Coleman Community. The honorees were Ms. Kathy Janeczek (posthumously), Mrs. Linda Molyneaux, Mr. James Quigley and Monsignor William Williams. The proceeds from this event benefit the John A. Coleman Catholic High School Scholarship Fund which provides tuition assistance to enrolled Coleman students.

On March 7, 2011 Senator Bonacic met with Evan Eliason, Jr; a Sidney High School vibraphone player who has been chosen to play in the All State Jazz Ensemble. On Thursday, March 24th, 2011 Senator Bonacic attended the dedication ceremony of Kaplan Hall at the Newburgh Campus of Orange County Community College. The Kaplan Hall will contain new science labs, a health professions wing for nursing and therapy programs, the campus library and main learning center, the one-stop student center for prospective students, and additional general purpose classrooms.
