State Senator John Bonacic (R,C,I – Mount Hope) today praised a new state law, which he supported, to make it easier for people to identify themselves as veterans by requiring a separate line on New York State Drivers Licenses or Identification Cards to indicate veteran status.Often times, veterans do not have an easily available source of identification to prove their status.
Senator Bonacic (R/C/I- Mt. Hope) has announced that the Veterans’ Cemetery Bill, S4213 by Senator Ball, has been included in the 2013-2014 New York State Budget. This bill will create a program to establish the first New York State Veterans’ Cemetery.
On Monday, May 27, 2013 Senator Bonacic marched in the Memorial Day Parade in Pine Island along with the Polish Legion of American Veterans Post #16 and participated in a cemetery service held at the end of the parade honoring those who have given the ultimate sacrifice defending our nation, our freedom and our way of life.
