Senator Bonacic spoke at the 2014 Orange County Youth Bureau Annual Awards Luncheon on May 30, 2014 and presented New York State Senate certificates to the honorees who have a positive influence on the communities throughout Orange County.
Senator Bonacic was a guest speaker a Memorial Day Service at American Legion Post #1443, Greenwood Lake, which honored LCPL Scott A. Lynch, killed in Afghanistan in October of 2010. The Senator presented the Lynch family with a New York State Senate Resolution, and a Liberty Medal, posthumously.
Senator Bonacic announces that the New York State Senate is partnering with the New York State Library and the 1,100 libraries and neighborhood branches to get more children reading this summer. The Senate’s 2014 Summer Reading Program in conjunction with the New York State Library is offering students and families a variety of entertaining ways to encourage reading.
Senator Bonacic was a guest speaker at the dedication ceremonies to honor Lance Cpl. Scott A. Lynch of Greenwood Lake, killed in action in Afghanistan in October, 2010. The Senator presented the family with a NYS Senate Resolution, and a posthumous Liberty Medal which is the highest honor bestowed upon an individual by the NYS Senate. A memorial to LCPL Lynch was also unveiled at Greenwood Lake's American Legion Post #1443.
Senator Bonacic attended the New York State Police Troop F Memorial Service held on Friday, May 23, at the NYS Police Barracks in the Town of Wallkill. Senator Bonacic congratulates Walter Kittle on his induction into the NYS Senate Veterans' Hall of Fame at a ceremony recently held in Albany. Kittle served in the Navy, Army National Guard and Air National Guard and volunteered for tours in Iraq and Afghanistan before retiring in 2013 from 30 plus years in military service. Here, Kittle is being awarded a NYS Certificate of Recognition by the Senator.
Senator Bonacic attended a ceremony in his honor at the O'Connor Hospital in Delhi on May 21, 2014 to dedicate the new atrium entrance at the facility which is named for him. Here is the Senator with Dan Ayres, CEO of O'Connor Hospital.

Senator Bonacic with James Martin, former Division Chief of the Fire Department of New York, in Albany for the NYS Emergency Medical Services Memorial held on May 20, 2014 at Empire State Plaza. This event recognized 12 fallen FDNY emergency medical service providers whose names were added to the Tree of Life Memorial, bringing the total to 56.
The Hortonville Volunteer Fire Company recently celebrated its 100th anniversary, and at their dinner, a New York State Senate resolution was presented to President Paul Hendershot and Chief Peter Norton in recognition of this milestone for the Fire Company.
Senator Bonacic attended and spoke at the recent Awards Dinner hosted by Catskill Regional Medical Center which recognized the contributions of all levels of emergency responders in Sullivan County. This event, held during Volunteer Firefighter and EMS week, honors members of local and state police, firefighters, paramedics, volunteer first aid responders, doctors, nurses, and staff members from CRMC for their dedication to the health and safety of Sullivan County residents.
Senator Bonacic met with constituents (l to r) Jessica Koock, Cindy Tangney and Eileen Konieczny recently at the District Office to discuss the Compassionate Care Act (SB4406) which would legalize marijuana for a certified medical use, and could only be administered by a certified patient or designated caregiver. The Senator advised them that he would support the bill if it came to the Senate floor.
Senator Bonacic attended the recent Orange County Sheriff Officer's Annual Awards which honored Deputy Sheriffs, Correction Officers and employees for their outstanding service to their community. With the Senator are Chief Dennis Barry, Sheriff Carl DuBois, County Clerk Annie Rabbitt, and Undersheriff Ken Jones.
