Senator Bonacic receives an updated tour of the 200,000 square facility of Middletown's Fleurchem Manufacturing Plant. Founded in 1984, this plant is a leading global manufacturer of supplier of ingredients for flavors, fragrances, foods, beverages and personal care products.

Middletown's (Orange County) annual "Run 4 Downtown" was held on Saturday, August 16, 2014. Begun by local shopkeepers in 2006, the run benefits the revitalization of historic downtown Middletown. The Sullivan Renaissance Pre-Awards Ceremony Cocktail Party reception was held at the Market Shed at Bethel Woods Center last night. These awards are funded by the Gerry Foundation, and provides communities in Sullivan County with seed money for beautification projects. The top winners were the Phillipsport Community Center ($25,000 grant); the Village of Jeffersonville ($10,000 grant); and the Rock Hill Fire Department and the Rock Hill Business and Community Association ($5,000). The ribbon-cutting ceremony for Orange County's new firefighter training facility, the "burn building," was held today, August 11. The building features three stories, includes 13 burn rooms and can simulate a variety of fires, including attic and basement fires. Located at the Fire Training Center in New Hampton, it has a 30 year life span, and it's estimated that two-thousand firefighters will learn from it. The Senator joined with other Orange County officials, including Senator Bill Larkin; Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus; Assemblyman James Skoufis; and former Orange County Eddie Diana to officially open the facility.

Senator Bonacic attended the Otterkill Engine Company's White Hat Party last night, which was part of the department's celebration to commemorate their 100th anniversary. With the Senator are members of the Engine Company and Women's Auxiliary.

Senator Bonacic attended the National Night Out Against Crime in Port Jervis. The weather held out long enough for a great community turnout. The message of the evening was to stand united in protecting our communities by reporting crimes to the police. Residents were asked to keep their porch lights on last night in as a demonstration of unity in the fight against crime. All around it was a great event.
