State Senator John Bonacic (R/C/I – Mt. Hope) today said the legislation (S.3827), proposing a tax on satellite television service is not going to pass the State Senate. The Legislation is sponsored by Senator Kevin Parker (D – NYC).

On Saturday, March 9, 2013 Senator Bonacic spoke at the Sullivan Renaissance 2013 Annual Conference, Local Market & Expo being held at the CVI Center in Ferndale. The conference featured workshops on a wide variety of topics, an expo including gardening and landscaping exhibits, an indoor market full of local products, and a presenation of the Annual Sullivan First Achievement Awards, which were created to recognize individuals, businesses and organizations for their outstanding commitment to improving the appearance of Sullivan County.
On Friday, March 8, 2013 Senator Bonacic attended the 5th Annual Celebrity Dinner & Tip Challenge for Sullivan County to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Town of Wallkill, Inc held at the Villa Roma & Resort & Conference Center in Callicoon. This year's theme was "Music From My Youth". The event brings together Sullivan County's most famous and well-known business, civic and political leaders who take on the roles of their favorite performers. The event raised approximately $40,000 to benefit their programs in Fallsburg, Liberty, Mamakating, Monticello and planned future expansion to serve more Sullivan County youth. Everyone had a great time!
The new Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) rules allowing small knives, which are potential weapons that could jeopardize safety, to be carried onto airplanes are absurd, illogical, and completely lacking commonsense. The TSA needs to immediately reconsider its actions.
