Senate Democrats have  locked themselves into the Senate Chamber.

After the vote on June 8 to change leadership, Senate Democrats refused to come to session day in and day out.  Now, they have locked themselves into the Senate chamber, refusing to hand over the gavel.

BONACIC WORKS TO REPEAL “DRUG DEALERS PROTECTION ACT”

Senator Bonacic Discusses legislation he opposed which he calls the "Drug Dealers Protection Act". The new law allows drug dealers to have their records sealed and to apply to be teachers and child care workers.

Senator Bonacic discusses how the State law has been changed to now allow drug dealers records to be sealed.  This would allow those convicted of serious crimes to apply for any job - including teacher and day care worker and their employers and the public would have no idea about their past criminal record.

Senator Bonacic speaks at the opening of the Cannonsville Reservoir to Expanded Boating

 Starting this Memorial Day weekend, the New York City Department of Environmental Protection will be opening up parts of the Cannonsville Reservoir for recreational kayaking, canoeing, sculls, and for small sailboats, like Sunfish. Access is from sunrise to sunset and will run from Memorial Day weekend to Columbus weekend. The Delaware County Chamber's tourism office is producing a brochure outlining all the information you need to know on the rules and regulations for the Cannonsville.

Bonacic Announces Rules Report

Senate Minority Members have unveiled their report on proposed Rules Changes.  The report highlights a series of reforms sought by Minority Members to make the Senate more transparent and equitable for all New Yorkers.  This report was adopted by Senators Bonacic, Griffo, and Winner as a minority report of the Temporary Committee on Rules and Administration reform on April 21, 2009 and sent to Senate Leaders Smith and Skelos.

Senator Bonacic Accepts Distinguished Service Award from Upper Delaware Council

On April 18, 2009, Senator Bonacic was awarded with the Distinguished Service award by the Upper Delaware Council.  The Award is the highest award given by the UDC and was given to Senator Bonacic in recognition of his efforts to oppose NYRI, support the goals of the Upper Delaware Council, and promote the Upper Delaware region.
