PRESS RELEASE: SENATE PASSES “TERESITA’S LAW” BY SENATOR BONACIC

 Today the New York State Senate passed “Teresita’s Law,” (S.1888)  sponsored by Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope), which elevates the charge of causing the death of another, while negligently operating a motor vehicle with a suspended, revoked, or otherwise withdrawn license, from a misdemeanor to a Class E Felony.

Senator Bonacic attends the 7th Annual Greenwood Forest Farms Association, Inc. Spring Luncheon

On Saturday, April 27, 2013 Senator John J. Bonacic attended the 7th Annual Greenwood Forest Farms Association, Inc. Spring Luncheon honoring businessman Mr. Leo Kaytes and photographer Mr. John Robinson for their valued community service at the Warwick Valley Country Club in Warwick.  Greenwood Forest Farms Association, Inc. is dedicated to gathering and preserving the historical information of New York State's first African American resort community, founded in 1919 in the Town of Warwick, NY.

Senator Bonacic Presents Ross Coleman with Pen Certificate for Legislation to Assist Summer Camps

Senator Bonacic is pictured above with Ross Coleman, President of the New York State Camp Directors Association.  Mr. Coleman, of Coleman Country Day Camp, was presented a pen certificate  commemorating the passage of Senator Bonacic’s legislation, (S6466B of 2012) that allows all children’s camps to employ licensed health care professionals in order to serve the needs of children during their summer camp experience.

Senator Bonacic Attends the RISE of Sullivan County's 3rd Annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes Event

On Saturday, April 20, 2013 Senator Bonacic attended the 3rd Annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event, held at the grounds of the Sullivan County Government Center and Broadway in Monticello.  The event helped raise funds for the RISE (Rape Intervention Services and Education) Program in Sullivan County.  This event is always a great time that raises funds and awareness for an important cause.

SENATOR BONACIC ANNOUNCES BILL PASSED TO ESTABLISHED THE FIRST NEW YORK STATE VETERANS’ CEMETERY

Senator Bonacic (R/C/I- Mt. Hope) has announced that the Veterans’ Cemetery Bill, S4213 by Senator Ball, has been included in the 2013-2014 New York State Budget.   This bill will create a program to establish the first New York State Veterans’ Cemetery.
