Senator Bonacic is pleased to announce that Governor Cuomo signed into law a bill he cosponsored, that expands a portion of the state highway system designated as the Shawangunk East Wine Trail to include new wineries. This law will greatly help boost tourism in the area.

On Friday, September 27, 2013, Senator Bonacic attended a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) ceremony that recognized the successful restoration of essential CASA funding to the New York State 2013-2014 judiciary budget. CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to watch over and advocate for abused and neglected children, to make sure they don’t get lost in the overburdened legal and social service system. For many abused children, their CASA volunteer will be the one constant adult presence in their lives.

Senator John J. Bonacic (R/I/C-Mt. Hope) recently announced that legislation he supported to stop the sale and use of deadly bath salt-type drugs has been signed into law by Governor Cuomo. The “bath salt-type’ drugs have been linked to several deaths of young people in New York.
Senator Bonacic attended the Friends of the NRA Banquet on September 7th and is picutred with Sullivan County DA James Farrell. The event was well attended and Senator Bonacic was pleased to be with his fellow sportsmen to continue the fight to protect the second amendment.
