Town of Smithtown Household Hazardous Waste Event

The Town of Smithtown is hosting a Household Hazardous Waste Event for residents to dispose of a variety of items around their home that may be hazardous or even toxic.

Smithtown residents are encouraged to bring the following unwanted materials (in their original containers) to the Municipal Service Facility:

Adhesives

Alcohols

Antifreeze

Brake Fluid

Suffolk County Police Department Sponsors Operation Medicine Cabinet

FROM THE SUFFOLK COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT'S COMMUNITY OUTREACH BUREAU

The Suffolk County Police Department will be conducting a drug disposal event on March 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Operation Medicine Cabinet will provide an opportunity for people to dispose of expired or unused prescription drugs in an environmentally-safe manner.

Help keep seniors, kids, and other family members safe from ingesting unwanted medications.

4th annual Hydrocephalus WALK

Senator John Flanagan (2nd Senate District) will serve as the honorary chairperson of the 4th annual Hydrocephalus WALK to help raise awareness of this disease.  This year’s walk, which organizers hope will raise awareness and funding for this incurable disease, will take place at 10:00 a.m.
