The New York State Legislature Joint Advisory Board on Broadcast of State Government Proceedings is conducting a public meeting to discuss the expansion of the current dedicated legislative television channel. The meeting will be held at 10 a.m. on November 17, in Room 124 of the New York State Capitol.
The Joint Advisory Board is co-chaired by Senator José M. Serrano and Assembly Majority Leader Ron Canestrari.
This Serrano supported event by the Children's Aid Society Teens is designed to raise awareness about resources to assist with jobs, immigration, and housing. There will be music, food, games and raffles. Everyone is welcome!
As part of his commitment to a more engaging committee process, Senator Serrano will be welcoming the New York State Tourism Advisory Council to this week's Cultural Affairs, Tourism, Parks and Recreation Committee meeting. The Tourism Advisory Council includes a number of the State's private sector leaders within the tourism industry. The Council will be on hand to explain their efforts and to discuss the State's tourism outlook for the next few months.
In light of the recent news coverage surrounding the topic of teen dating violence, we hope to educate and spark a conversation on this important issue. We will share resources, both local and citywide, that are available to young people experiencing violence in their relationships.
The outdoor film event brought to you by Art for Change, the NY Immigration Coalition, and the East Harlem Against Deportation campaign. Last month, Senator Serrano and colleagues launched East Harlem Against Deportation to oppose unjust deportations and detentions that are tearing local families apart.
