The festival continued the celebration of the revival of the iconic High Bridge since its closure in 1970. (New York, NY)- Senator Serrano applauded Mayor Bill de Blasio and Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito on the success of the IDNYC program, with over 400,000 New Yorkers, or 5.5% of eligible City residents, already having an IDNYC card. IDNYC launched six months ago and is now the largest municipal ID program in the country.
(Bronx, NY)- Senator Serrano marched in the annual Bronx Dominican Day Parade, which took place along the Grand Concourse, south from East Tremont Avenue to East 167th Street in the Bronx. (New York, NY)- Senator Serrano commended the Wage Board's recommendation to increase fast food workers' minimum wages to $15/hour. The recommendation was finalized on Monday, July 22nd, and would apply to fast-food workers in restaurants with 30 or more locations. It would be phased in over three years in New York City and six years throughout the rest of the state.
"I applaud the Wage Board's monumental recommendation to increase the wages to $15/hour. This will not only provide economic benefits for our fast food workers across the state, but for the communities they call home. These new and historic fairer wages will lift so many working families out of poverty and allow for them to afford to continue to live and raise families in New York," said Senator Serrano.

The event was organized by the Bronx Community Pride Center, which provides much-needed services and programming for LGBT individuals in the borough of the Bronx. With 25,000 riders a day, the crosstown M86 carries more passengers per mile than any other New York City bus route. As such, the M86 Select Bus Service will reduce travel times for thousands of New Yorkers.
(Bronx, NY)- Senator Serrano participated in Mayor Bill de Blasio's press conference announcing that New York City is on track to complete 20,325 units of affordable housing by the end of 2015. The City broke an all-time record for the most new affordable apartments underway.

IDNYC is a new municipal identification card for New York City residents.
