Town of Greece Family Halloween Party

On Friday night, October 29th, the Town of Greece held a family Halloween party at the town's Community and Senior Center. Families were treated to music and food. Senator Roabch and Town of Greece Councilman Kirk Morris served as judges for the costume contest, which awarded prizes for the most original costume and most scariest costume. Earlier in the day, the Town of Greece held a Seniors Halloween Party.

On Friday, October 29th, the Town of Greece held its annual Seniors Halloween Party at the Town of Greece Community and Senior Center. Senator Robach made remarks the event, and also helped serve lunch. Friday night, the Town of Greece will host a Family Halloween Party, also at the Center, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

"Sweet House!" Announced at Nazareth College

On Thursday, October 14, the Rochester Children's Theatre unveiled their newest musical, "Sweet House!". Based on the story of Hansel and Gretel, the musical will use the story's theme to show children how to make better choices and help fight childhood obesity. Senator Robach joined Congresswoman Louise Slaughter, Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks, and Senator Jim Alesi in a performance at the press conference.

ABVI Goodwill Receives LEED Gold Certification

On Wednesday, October 13th, 2010, Senator Robach attended, and provided remarks at, a ceremony where ABVI Goodwill announced it has received its LEED Gold certification. You can read the entire press release below:

Rochester, NY (October 13, 2010)The Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (ABVI)-Goodwill Industries of Greater Rochester, Inc. announced today that its Call Center facility has been awarded LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold certification through the U.S. Green Building Council for the design, construction, and operation of a high performance green building as verified by the Green Building Certification Institute.

Senator Robach Visits Hilton High School for Homecoming

Friday, October 8th, the Hilton Cadets hosted Churchville-Chili in the annual homecoming football game. Prior to kickoff, Senator Robach visited with the team, provided remarks to the crowd, and performed the coin toss. Hilton defeated Churchville-Chili 21-13.

Polisseni Track & Field Complex Groundbreaking

On Friday, October 8th, St. John Fisher College held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Polisseni Track & Field Complex. The College is adding an eight-lane, 400-meter competition track with a grass infield. Components will be installed in the infield for shot put, pole vault, and long jump events. In addition, there will be bleacher seating for approximately 1,000 people, with locker rooms for the student-athletes and public restrooms.

Five Star Bank in Greece Makes Donation to Two Doors

On Wednesday, September 29, Five Star Bank, which has a branch at Ridgemont Plaza in Greece, held a reception to make a donation to a local organization. Senator Robach spoke at the reception and is pictured here with respresenatives from Five Star Bank as they presented Paul Soscia (pictured left) with a $500 check for Two Doors Community Resource Center. Soscia serves as the Executive Director for the organization.

Senior Olympics Held at Atria Greece

Recently, Senator Robach attended the senior olympics, which were held at Atria Greece. This was the second year for the event in which residents competed in Nintendo Wii bowling, human horse racing, softball throw, a spelling bee, karaoke and a putting contest. Prizes were handed out during closing ceremonies, which wrapped up the event. Ridge Road Fire District T-Shirts for Breast Cancer Awareness

On Friday, October 1st, the Ridge Road Fire District kicked off Breast Cancer Awareness Month by unveiling special t-shirts that members will be wearing during the month of October. Senator Robach met with members of the Ridge Road Fire District today and made remarks at the press conference prior to the unveiling of the t-shirts. The navy blue shirts feature the district's logo and writing on the back in pink. Shirts were also sold for $10 with proceeds going to Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester.

Senator Robach Wraps up 2010 Dictionary Project

On Monday, September 27th, Senator Robach visited Northwood Elementary School in Hilton to wrap up the 2010 Dictionary Project. Over the past two weeks, Senator Robach has distributed dictionaries to third grade students in both Greece and Hilton as a part of a program sponsored by both the Greece Rotary and Hilton Rotary. Overall, third graders from 11 elementary schools received new dictionaries to use throughout the school year. Pictured with Senator Robach is third grader Lauren Morris.
