Brookside Students Donate to Clothes Drive

On Friday, December 17th, students at Brookside Elementary School in Greece donated hats, mittens, and other winter articles of clothing to Senator Robach's "From One Closet to Another" Coats for Kids Clothes Drive. Senator Robach is pictured with fourth and fifth graders of the student council. Third graders were not able to attend this morning's event due to a field trip. Articles of clothing will be delivered to the Greece Ecumenical Clothes Closet next week.

Town of Greece Seniors Christmas Party

On Wednesday, December 15th, the Town of Greece held its annual Seniors Christmas Party at the Town Community and Senior Center. Senator Robach spoke with residents prior to lunch. Also, Santa Claus was the special guest at the luncheon, which featured a sing-a-long. Pictured with Senator Robach and Santa Claus is Town of Greece Supervisor John Auberger. Student Anthology Publication Party

On Friday, December 10th, Senator Robach attended, and spoke at, Thomas Jefferson High School's "Student Anthology Publication Party". This was presented by Writers & Books and the Academy of Performing and Visual Arts at TJHS. Forty students attended the event which also included six performers.

Literacy Volunteers of Rochester Opens New Offices

On Friday, December 10th, 2010, Senator Robach attended a ceremony to mark the opening of Literacy Volunteers of Rochester's new location. Earlier this year, LVR moved their offices to 1600 South Avenue at Wolk Hall. The new offices give LVR the opportunity to expand programs and services. Spino Foundation Donates to Coats for Kids Drive

On Friday, December 3rd, Geri Spino, president of the Scott Spino Foundation Inc. donated 24 winter coats and 40 pairs of winter mittens as a part of Senator Robach's Coats for Kids Clothes Drive. El Camino Estates Opens in Rochester

On Tuesday, Senator Robach spoke at, and cut the ribbon at, a ceremony to mark the completion of the 25-unit, $7.3 million rental housing development, El Camino Estates. Currently home to 21 families, El Camino Estates is a new affordable housing community for low-income city residents.

Brighton Veterans Memorial Kick-Off

On Sunday, November 14th, Senator Robach attended, and spoke at, a ceremony to announce a new Veterans memorial in Brighton. The memorial will be in Buckland Park, located on Westfall Road. Ground is expected to be broken in the spring, and the hope is to have the memorial ready by next summer.You can read more information about the memorial at www.townofbrighton.org. On Thursday, November 11th, I had the honor to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Rochester Vet Center, which opened in Brighton. The center, previously located in Rochester, is now located at 2000 S. Winton Road, across the street from the Jewish Home.

Greece Performing Arts Society Honors Veterans

On Tuesday night, November 9th, Greece Performing Arts Society held a Veteran's Day Musical Salute. During the program, Senator Robach provided remarks, and gave a flag away to the oldest veteran in the audience, who was 100-year old Greece resident Virginia Mathony. The evening featured performances from Greece Concert Band, Greece Choral Society, and Greece Community Orchestra.

On Saturday, November 6th, American Legion Post #468 in Greece held its Veterans Day Ceremony. Senator Robach provided remarks during the ceremony. Wreaths were planted at the memorial located on the grounds. Town of Greece Veterans Day Ceremony

On Saturday, November 6th, the Town of Greece held its annual Veterans Day Ceremony at Greece Town Hall. Senator Robach provided remarks prior to the ceremony, and also led attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance. Following the ceremony indoors, wreaths were planted at the outdoor memorial.
