Kirk Road Elementary Kids Raise Funds for Anna's Wish

On Friday, May 13th, Senator Robach had the opportunity to visit and speak with participants and attendees of the Bulldog Basketball Tournament at Greece Arcadia High School. The event, featuring Kirk Road Elementary School students versus faculty, benefited Anna's Wish. Easter Seals Walk With Me Rochester

On Saturday morning, May 14th, Senator Robach had the opportunity to visit with participants of, and make remarks at, the Easter Seals Walk With me Rochester. Despite the soggy and damp weather, it was great to see so many people out on Saturday. There were a number of groups and organizations who had teams participating in the two-mile walk. Senator Robach Visits with Students at School 28

On Thursday, June 9th, Senator Robach had the opportunity to visit with 5th graders at School No. 28 in Rochester. Senator Robach presented students with dictionaries and American Flags that they can use for Flag Day next week and the Fourth of July.

Senate Gives Final Legislative Passage to Juvenile 'Sexting' and 'Cyberbullying' Prevention Bill

The New York State Senate Wednesday gave final legislative passage to a bill (S.5253B) to divert youth to an education program addressing the sending of nude or obscene photographs through electronic technologies, also known as “sexting,” as well as conduct that constitutes “cyberbullying.”

 

The bill, entitled the “Cyber-Crime Youth Rescue Act,” sponsored by Senator Kemp Hannon (R-C-I, Garden City), requires the development of an educational program about the numerous perils of sexting and cyberbullying. The program provides an option other than a permanent criminal record for juveniles deemed eligible by a court.

Senator Robach Announces 'Back to School Backpacks and Supplies' Drive

I hope you are enjoying all that summer has to offer in our community. Because of the tremendous response from the community to my “Coats for Kids Clothes Drive” last December,  I am proud to announce my “Back to School Backpacks and Supplies Drive”. From now until August 5th, I will be collecting backpacks and school supplies and will be donating them to the Greece Ecumenical Clothes Closet, who is in “great need” for these items.

 

Supplies needed are:

Backpacks
Pens – Blue and Black
Pencils – Standard and Colored
Rulers and protractors
Lined paper and pads, composition paper
Folders
Post-It-Notes
Basic calculators
Glue sticks
Highlighters

2011 National Night Out Against Crime

Here are a list of some of the events taking place on Tuesday, August 2nd, 2011 to celebrate National Night Out Against Crime.

2011 National Night Out Against Crime at the Dewey Avenue Family Festival, Parking lots behind the Barnard Fire Department and Bethany Presbyterian Church at 3000 Dewey Avenue (near Stone Road). Food, music, and fun for families!

5:00-8:00 p.m.

17th Annual Southwest Sector 4 National Night Out Against Crime Motorcade. The motorcade starts at Wilson High School and contiues to Genesee Valley Park / Canalside Shelter.

Horizons Summer Graduation and Closing Ceremonies

On Thursday, August 4th, Senator Robach had the privilege to attend 8th grade graduation and closing ceremonies for the Horizons at Harley Student Enrichment Program. Caring and Sharing Child Care Center Opens

Senator Robach recently had the privilege to speak to, and visit with, kids at the grand opening of the Caring and Sharing Junior Academy on Webster Avenue in Rochester. Caring and Sharing has provided child care in Rochester for 12 years and recently expanded to include the junior academy. The center offers an experimental educational enrichment program to youth who are too old for traditional child care services.

Rochester Hurricanes Youth Football Pizza Party

Senator Robach recently had an opportunity to visit with coaches and players from Rochester Hurricanes Youth Football during a pizza party at School #50.
