On Monday, April 18th, Senator Robach had the honor to speak at, and help cut the ribbon at, a ceremony to mark the official opening of Nothnagle Realtors new corporate headquarters. The new office, located in downtown Rochester at 217 West Main Street, will bring 70 employees to the area. Nothnagle acquired the 27,000-square foot property in 2009.
On Thursday, April 28th, Senator Robach had the privilege to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the newest Northwest Savings Bank location. The branch, located at 1441 Monroe Ave. in Brighton, opened for business last Thursday and donated $1,000 to Brighton Volunteer Ambulance during the ceremony. Northwest Savings Bank has other locations throughout our area in Greece, Gates, Penfield, and downtown.
On Thursday, May 19th, I had the opportunity to attend, and speak at, a wall raising ceremony for the new Erie Harbor apartment building that is currently under construction on Mt. Hope Avenue. On Friday, July 15th, I had the opportunity to speak at, and participate in, a ground breaking ceremony at the future site of the Paul Wolk Common Apartments on State Street in Rochester. The new Wolk Commons is an $8.5 million project that will create 45 mixed-use apartments, most of them for people with mental disabilities. Paul Wolk Commons is expected to open in Spring 2012.
On Thursday, July 28th, Senator Robach had the privilege to attend, and speak at, a ribbon cutting ceremony at Hair Galleria, located on Hudson Avenue. Hair Galleria is an expansion of Hair Casa Inc., a seven-year-old family business. It will employ 15 to 25 full- and part-time. Best wishes to everyone at Hair Galleria!
On Thursday, August 11th, Senator Robach spoke at, and attended, a board cutting ceremony to mark the opening of Weider's Pro Pain and Hardware in Brighton. The new store is located at the corner of Rhinecliff and Monroe Avenue, at the former Lilac Restaurant. This is the second location for Weider's, which also has a store in Honeoye Falls.
Recently, Senator Robach had the opportunity to speak at, and take part in, a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Nola's BBQ in Charlotte. Nola's expanded to include a new 'sky deck' to serve customers. Following the ceremony, two local students were each presented with a $500 scholarship for their college education.
Recently, Senator Robach had the opportunity to speak at, and take part, in a ceremony to officially open The Swedge Shop. The store, located at 732 South Ave, is in the heart of the South Wedge community and is an information center and retail shop. People can come to get coffee mugs, T-shirts, maps, books, pub glasses, water bottles and other Wedge artifacts, learn a little of the history of the community and about upcoming events. On Friday morning, September 2nd, Senator Robach attended, and spoke at, a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open The Crossroads Coffeehouse at the corner of Goodman Street and Clinton Avenue, at 752 South Goodman Street. Crossroads Coffeehouse offers free Wi-Fi, couches for lounging, a fireplace, and conference and meeting areas.
Senator Robach was a guest on Legislative Update on Wednesday, September 7th. During the broadcast, Senator Robach discussed job development and previewed the upcoming Greentopia Festival in Rochester.
