It was great to go back to my Alma Mater, Holy Cross School, to help them kickoff their anti-bullying assembly today. There were a few great presentations by the students, and a great message of anti-bullying. Many thanks for inviting me to help kickoff this event!
As part of an ongoing initiative, students at Autumn Lane Elementary School in the Town of Greece will now have access to 30 iPads in the school's library. This new technology will help them prepare for testing and to meet district technology standards. I'm pleased to help secure funding for this project that will benefit all K-5 students in the Greece Central School District by providing them access to new technology. Many thanks to Superintendent Deane-Williams and Principal Potter for inviting me today.

I was pleased to host students from my Alma Mater, SUNY Brockport, this afternoon to discuss the 2014 State Budget and education funding. These students were knowledgeable and came prepared with great questions. Students like them remind me why I'm so proud to be a SUNY Brockport alum! Go Golden Eagles!
New York State Senator Joe Robach announced today that the New York Conference of Italian-American State Legislators is now accepting applications for four $2,000 scholarships, which will be awarded on June 9th at their Annual Legislative Conference Day.

The Rochester Institute of Technology recently broke ground on its new Clinical Health Sciences Center that will help to expand the College of Health Sciences and Technology. I was pleased to be on hand for this exciting event. This new facility will not only house the College of Health Sciences and Technology, it will also be home to a primary care clinic that will be run by Rochester General Hospital, as well as the newly announced Wegmans School of Health and Nutrition. This is such an exciting time for R.I.T., I'm honored to be a part of it!
I had a great time reading "House Mouse Senate Mouse" to 2nd and 3rd grade students at Walt Disney Elementary School in the Town of Gates this afternoon. The students enjoyed the book and had some great questions about government and my job as a State Senator. Thanks to the Gates Chili School District and the Rochester Regional Library Council for the invitation!
I had the pleasure of visiting with students at Quest Elementary School in Hilton and listening to their year-end Exhibition project presentations. What a great group of smart and eager students! I joined officials from St. John Fisher College to break ground on the new Integrated Science and Health Science building on campus. This new building will provide a state of the art learning facility for future nurses, pharmacists and other clinical professionals, giving them hands-on learning experience for life after college.
