Senator Robach Visits School 34

On Friday, April 15th, Senator Robach visited with students at School No. 34 in Rochester. The Dr. Louis A. Cerulli School hosted its annual "Snuggle Up with a Good Book/Poem in Your Pocket Day". After talking with students and teachers, Senator Robach also visited with a fifth grade class.

R.I.T. Breaks Ground for Golisano Institute for Sustainability

On Friday, April 15th, Senator Robach spoke at, and took part in, a groundbreaking ceremony at the Rochester Institute of Technology. The school broke ground on the Golisano Institute for Sustainability. The building will serve as a center for sustainability research, technology transfer, education and outreach and will provide a showcase for green construction and design. RIT received a $13.1 million grant from the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Construction Grant Program for the facility and $10 million in funding from the state of New York to assist with construction.

Senator Robach Meets with MCSBA

Earlier this week, Senator Robach had the opportunity to meet with representatives from the Monroe County School Boards Association at my District Office in Greece. MCC President Honored as 'Woman of Distinction'

On Tuesday, May 24th, Senator Joe Robach honored Monroe Community College president, Dr. Anne M. Kress as a 2011 Woman of Distinction. A ceremony will take place in Albany.

 

“During her time at Monroe Community College, Dr. Kress has made a remarkable impact on MCC’s students, faculty, staff, and the entire Rochester community,” said Senator Robach. “The ‘Women of Distinction’ program provides a special opportunity to honor successful women, such as Dr. Kress, for their achievements and to thank them for the pride they bring to the community.”

Brighton, Odyssey Make Newsweek's Best High Schools List

Newsweek magazine recently ranked the top 500 high schools in America. Two high schools in Senator Robach's district made the list. Epilepsy Foundation Honors Scholarship Award Winner

On Wednesday July 13, Senator Robach presented a certificate to Greece student Shaina Sarkis, who received the Stephen A. Segar Scholarship. The award was presented during the Epilepsy Foundation luncheon at Country Club of Rochester. Congratulations to all of this year's award winners and all the best on your future endeavors!

Senator Robach Announces 'Back to School Backpacks and Supplies' Drive

I hope you are enjoying all that summer has to offer in our community. Because of the tremendous response from the community to my “Coats for Kids Clothes Drive” last December,  I am proud to announce my “Back to School Backpacks and Supplies Drive”. From now until August 5th, I will be collecting backpacks and school supplies and will be donating them to the Greece Ecumenical Clothes Closet, who is in “great need” for these items.

 

Supplies needed are:

Backpacks
Pens – Blue and Black
Pencils – Standard and Colored
Rulers and protractors
Lined paper and pads, composition paper
Folders
Post-It-Notes
Basic calculators
Glue sticks
Highlighters

Horizons Summer Graduation and Closing Ceremonies

On Thursday, August 4th, Senator Robach had the privilege to attend 8th grade graduation and closing ceremonies for the Horizons at Harley Student Enrichment Program. Back to School Drive a Success!

Earlier this week, Senator Robach was joined by Town of Greece Councilman Andrew Conlon, and Jerry and Geri Spino to bring all of the donated school supplies and backpacks to the Greece Ecumenical Clothes Closet. Thank you to everyone who made this drive such a success. We collected dozens of backpacks and hundreds of notebooks, folders, pens, and pencils. This drive couldn't have been a success without your support. Best wishes to all the kids on a great 2011-2012 school year!
