This new facility will allow SJFC nursing students to practice patient treatment on a simulated patient, while giving them hands-on experience in providing patient care. I was pleased to be able to help secure funding for this new facility, which will serve as yet another healthcare asset to the Rochester community.
I had the opportunity to speak to Participation in Government classes at Edison Tech this morning. This was a great chance for me to talk about the role of government, and the importance of voter participation and getting involved in the community. The students came to class ready to participate and had some great questions. Many thanks to Mr. Amico for inviting to speak to his classes.

These young men are role models for their peers and fellow students throughout our community.
I was pleased to recognize students being inducted in to Wilson Magnet's International Baccalaureate program last night. This great program encourages critical analysis, research skills and service as part of the learning process, and pushes students to get the most out of themselves and their education. Best of luck to all the students recently inducted in to this program and keep up the good work in the classroom!
I recently joined my colleagues on the New York State Senate Education Committee to meet with Education Commissioner John King, where I had the chance to express concerns of many of my constituents on a variety of education issues such as Common Core and high stakes testing.
