On Friday, April 15th, Senator Robach spoke at, and took part in, a groundbreaking ceremony at the Rochester Institute of Technology. The school broke ground on the Golisano Institute for Sustainability. The building will serve as a center for sustainability research, technology transfer, education and outreach and will provide a showcase for green construction and design. RIT received a $13.1 million grant from the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Construction Grant Program for the facility and $10 million in funding from the state of New York to assist with construction.
(Rochester, N.Y.) - Recently, I had the privilege to join R.I.T. president Bill Destler on a tour to see the progress of the Golisano Institute for Sustainability on the campus of R.I.T. The new headquarters of the GIS will house students beginning in September. For more information on studies available at the Golisano Institute for Sustainability, visit http://www.rit.edu/gis/.
