2013 Police Officers Memorial Remembrance Ceremony

Earlier today, I was on hand to honor 16 fallen police officers from New York State. Included in those remembered today was Lt. Mike Chiapperini from Webster, who was killed on Christmas Eve as he responded with fellow volunteer firefighters to a fire in Webster. The black granite memorial lists the names of more than 1,300 police officers, state troopers, sheriff's deputies, and other law enforcement personnel who have died in the line of duty in New York state.

Earlier this afternoon, the Greece Police Department held a ceremony to name their newest Greece Police K9 dog. The dog is named 'Chip', in honor of fallen officer, Lt. Barnard Crossing Branch Library Relocation

I was pleased to join officials from the Town of Greece to help open the newly relocated Barnard Crossing Branch Library. Now located at 2808 Dewey Avenue, this new facility will be more cost-friendly to the town while providing the same great services and amenities to library patrons.
