On Sunday, January 17th, from Noon until 6:00 p.m., the Barnard Fire Department is hosting a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for Johnathan Davis, a member of its explorer post. Johnathan, a 16-year old, and a junior at Greece Odyssey, suffered a seizure caused by a cancerous brain tumor in July, 2009. On Sunday, April 11th, Joshua Fidler became the newest eagle scout for Boy Scout Troop 195, located in Greece. Joshua's Court of Honor and Banquet was held at St. Mark's Church. On Friday, April 23rd, Senator Robach attended a Global Youth Service Day event in Rochester. Youth as Resources, a program of the Monroe County Youth Bureau, partnered with Youth Voice One Vision (YVOV) for Building Rochester-Monroe County from the Ground Up. This was a county-wide event focused on healthy living. The group visit...ed sites around the community and wrapped up their day with reflection, and a dinner and dance.
Young People Display Creative Genius at Invention Convention 2010
Rochester, NY— On Saturday, May 15 from 12:30pm to 4pm, budding inventors will display models of their bright ideas for the Rochester Region–Finger Lakes judging of Invention Convention 2010. The event will take place in the lobby of the Rochester Museum & Science Center Strasenburgh Planetarium, and the public is invited to meet the inventors and share the excitement. Admission is free.
On Saturday, June 12, Senator Robach joined volunteers and players of Rochester Hispanic Youth Baseball League for the 2010 RHYBL Parade and Inauguration Ceremony at Don Samuel Torres Park in Rochester. On Saturday, July 24, the Simmons' Youth Enrichment Center at Upper Room Family Worship Center hosted a free community festival. During the festival, Senator Robach announced the winner of a free bicycle.
