Visiting Students at Turkish Cultural Center of Rochester

On Saturday morning, I had the privilege to visit with children at the Turkish Cultural Center of Rochester. The kids had great questions regarding our community, our state, and our country. I also had the opportunity to read to them before they returned to their classrooms. So many bright young minds! Thanks for having me as a guest!

Grant Helps Greece Add iPads to Elementary Schools

I am proud to partner with the Greece Central School District to put technology into the hands of Greece elementary school students. In an effort to increase students' access to, and understanding of, technology, the district recently purchased 30 iPads for each school serving grades 3-5. I was able to access educational funding for this program. In addition to Buckman Heights, iPad stations have been added to Brookside, Craig Hill, Lakeshore, Longridge, Paddy Hill, Pine Brook, and West Ridge Elementary Schools.

Visiting with Students at Stepping Stones Learning Center

On Tuesday, October 24th, I had the privilege to tour and visit with students at Stepping Stones Learning Center. Stepping Stones Learning Center, a not-for-profit, family centered program for children birth to 21 years of age with and without special needs. Through our community, OPWDD, clinic, and early childhood school based classroom programs, we have developed unique environments where an acceptance of diversity promotes an atmosphere where children learn and grow together and from each other; what a lifelong gift. Wilson Magnet High School IB Diploma Programme Induction Ceremony

On Thursday evening, I had the privilege to speak at the 11th Annual Wilson Magnet High School International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Induction Ceremony. Community-Wide Collaborative to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse

Earlier today, I had the privilege to speak at a press conference announcing a new community-wide collaborative to prevent child sexual abuse. Bivona Child Advocacy Center, in partnership with the YMCA of Greater Rochester announced today their official collaboration with local nonprofit and government organizations to address the epidemic of child sexual abuse. Section Five Football Semi-Finals

On Sunday, October 28th, I had the privilege to conduct the pre-game coin toss before kickoff of the Section Five Football Semi-Final game between Aquinas and Rush-Henrietta. Congratulations to the Li'L Irish from my alma mater on your 21-13 victory. Recognizing Students for Summer Reading Program

Last week I had the privilege to visit with students and their teachers at Greece Athena Middle School. Students there were recognized for taking part in the district's summer reading program. Great job by all the students for your efforts this summer and getting a head start!

St. Lawrence School Veterans Day Concert

On Wednesday night, I had the privilege to attend, and speak at, the annual St. Lawrence School Veterans Day concert. Students from grades 4-6 took part in the concert to honor our country and those who have served it. Great job by all the students!

School #36 26th Annual Veterans Day Ceremony

On Thursday night, I had the honor to speak at, and talk with students, faculty, staff, their families, and local veterans at the annual Veterans Day ceremony. This was the 26th year for the ceremony. The students, faculty, and staff did a wonderful job as always on this great annual event to honor those who have served our Country.

Meeting with Boy Scouts from Troop 18

Earlier this afternoon I had the opportunity to meet with a group of boy scouts from Troop 18. The four scouts, who visited my district office, discussed issues regarding our community as they complete the process for their Citizenship Merit Badge. In addition to our community, we also discussed how government operates in New York State and current issues facing our state government.
