Brighton Little League Opening Day!

A little rain didn't stop Brighton Little League from having their opening day parade and ceremony on Saturday afternoon. Brighton Little League not only teaches the skills of baseball, but promotes teamwork and sportsmanship on and off the field. 103.9 WDKX Celebrates 40 Years!

In 1974, Andrew Langston had a vision of creating a radio station that would be for the people and connect with the community. It is with this vision that 103.9 WDKX was born. On Saturday evening, WDKX celebrated its 40th Anniversary with performances by national recording artists Sevyn Streeter and Chrisette Michele, as well as many talented local recording artists.

AT&T Donates $30,000 to the Villa of Hope

Public Forum on Heroin and Opioid Addiction

I hosted a public forum on heroin and opioid addiction with my colleagues in the State Legislature Senator Phil Boyle and Assemblyman Mark Johns. We heard compelling testimony from drug addiction and prevention experts, law enforcement professionals and families who have been touched by addiction. We are committed to ending this growing problem that has taken countless lives across New York State. My sincere thanks to everyone who shared their stories and to those who attended today.

Greece 4th of July Celebration Announcement

I was pleased to join Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich this morning to announce the Town's plans for its revived 4th of July celebration! The day will kickoff with a Freedom 5k, will include food vendors, games and activities, and will be headlined by a performance from the band Orleans and fireworks, all at the Greece Town Campus. If I wasn't ready for summer yet, I certainly am now!

R.I.T. Breaks Ground on Clinical Health Sciences Center

The Rochester Institute of Technology recently broke ground on its new Clinical Health Sciences Center that will help to expand the College of Health Sciences and Technology. I was pleased to be on hand for this exciting event. This new facility will not only house the College of Health Sciences and Technology, it will also be home to a primary care clinic that will be run by Rochester General Hospital, as well as the newly announced Wegmans School of Health and Nutrition. This is such an exciting time for R.I.T., I'm honored to be a part of it!

The Rochester Ice Cats held their 7th annual Rochester Friendship Tournament over the weekend. I was excited that they asked me to once again help welcome all of the athletes and help drop the puck at the Opening Ceremony Saturday afternoon.
