On Friday, November 19th, Senator Robach read 'The First Thanksgiving' to students at Northstar Christian Academy. Senator Robach also discussed how a bill becomes a law with students and answered questions from the students.
On Thursday, November 18th, Senator Robach spoke to seniors at the Town of Greece Seniors Thanksgiving Party. The annual event was held at the Town of Greece Community and Senior Center. For more events at the Center, visit the town's website at www.greeceny.gov.
On Sunday, November 14th, Senator Robach attended, and spoke at, a ceremony to announce a new Veterans memorial in Brighton. The memorial will be in Buckland Park, located on Westfall Road. Ground is expected to be broken in the spring, and the hope is to have the memorial ready by next summer.You can read more information about the memorial at www.townofbrighton.org. Senator Robach here is pictured with Mary Taylor, who is designing the memorial. The display in the middle is a miniature version of the top of the monument.

On Thursday, November 11th, I had the honor to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Rochester Vet Center, which opened in Brighton. The center, previously located in Rochester, is now located at 2000 S. Winton Road, across the street from the Jewish Home.
On Tuesday night, November 9th, Greece Performing Arts Society held a Veteran's Day Musical Salute. During the program, Senator Robach provided remarks, and gave a flag away to the oldest veteran in the audience, who was 100-year old Greece resident Virginia Mathony. The evening featured performances from Greece Concert Band, Greece Choral Society, and Greece Community Orchestra.
On Thursday, November 11th, we will celebrate Veterans Day. As a proud supporter of those who have served, and continue to serve, our great country on a daily basis, I wanted to let you know of events that are taking place throughout the week to honor our veterans. I hope that you will be able to join me in celebrating that our veterans have done for us.
On Saturday, November 6th, American Legion Post #468 in Greece held its Veterans Day Ceremony. Senator Robach provided remarks during the ceremony. Wreaths were planted at the memorial located on the grounds. On Saturday, November 6th, the Town of Greece held its annual Veterans Day Ceremony at Greece Town Hall. Senator Robach provided remarks prior to the ceremony, and also led attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance. Following the ceremony indoors, wreaths were planted at the outdoor memorial.

This month, the Open Door Mission will mark a 58-year tradition of serving hundreds of Thanksgiving meals to Rochester's most vulnerable citizens. As a prelude to the annual Thanksgiving Day celebration, the Mission recognized National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week, which commences on November 14th. Senator Robach visited the Mission on Friday, November 5th, to help launch the Open Door Mission's holiday campaign.
On Sunday, October 31st, Senator Robach welcomed home veterans who went on the final Honor Flight of 2010. Men from our local Battle of the Bulge Chapter made the trip over the weekend to Washington D.C. to visit the World War II Memorial and Arlington Cemetery. On Friday night, October 29th, the Town of Greece held a family Halloween party at the town's Community and Senior Center. Families were treated to music and food. Senator Roabch and Town of Greece Councilman Kirk Morris served as judges for the costume contest, which awarded prizes for the most original costume and most scariest costume. Earlier in the day, the Town of Greece held a Seniors Halloween Party.
On Friday, October 29th, the Town of Greece held its annual Seniors Halloween Party at the Town of Greece Community and Senior Center. Senator Robach made remarks the event, and also helped serve lunch. Friday night, the Town of Greece will host a Family Halloween Party, also at the Center, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
On Friday, October 29th, Senator Robach attended an event at the Hillside Family of Agencies Conference Center. At the event, Patricia Malgieri was named the new President of the Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection. Malgieri begins her new role in January.
On Thursday, October 28th, Senator Robach spoke to students at School of the Arts during a Participation in Government class. Robach discussed state issues with students and told them how they can become more active in government.
On Thursday, October 28th, Senator Robach visited English Village Elementary School in Greece where students are taking part in the healthy highway program. This program teaches healthy nutrition and active lifestyles. For more information on this program, visit www.healthy-highway.com.
