Griffo Pushes Back On Behalf of Grieving Military Families
(Utica) - State Senator Joseph A. Griffo (R-C-IP, Rome) today announced that he is moving forward with legislation to protect military families from being subjected to indignity in a time of deep grief.
Griffo Commemorates New Purple Heart Stamp ClassificationU.S. Postal Service Makes Purple Heart Stamp “Forever”
(Utica) – State Senator Joseph Griffo joined members of the Central New York Chapter 490 Military Order of the Purple Heart of the USA in commemorating the national unveiling of the new Purple Heart 'Forever' stamp by the United States Postal Service. The U.S. Postal Service will officially unveil and issue the Purple Heart “Forever” stamp in San Diego on May 5, 2011.
We owe a great deal to the men and women of our armed services, as well as parents whose children were lost in the preservation of our freedom.
While state legislators recognize there are no perfect words or gestures to appropriately express our gratitude, we do try to recognize this sacrifice by making it easier for veterans to live and work in New York.

UTICA – State Senator Joseph Griffo of Rome and Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi of Utica announce that a portion of State Route 49 has been designated to honor those who served our nation during the Vietnam War.
On Thursday, Governor Andrew Cuomo approved legislation sponsored by Griffo and Brindisi that names State Route 49 from the City of Rome to the City of Utica as the “Oneida County Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway.”
