Bill Now in Assembly; Fixes Discrepancy Between State & Federal Laws 

 

Queens, NY, March 7, 2011 –  NYS Senator Joseph Addabbo, Jr. (D-Queens), ranking member of both the Senate’s Elections Committee and its Veterans, Homeland Security, and Military Affairs Committee, supports the Governor’s Program Bill #4, announced by Governor Cuomo on February 23, which has been passed by the Senate and now needs passage in the Assembly. Once passed by the legislature and signed by the governor, it would take effect immediately.

Website Offers Qualifying Guidelines for Using FreeFile 

Queens, NY, March 15, 2011 – NYS Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. (D-Queens), who serves on the Senate’s Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs Committee, urged taxpayers to take advantage of FreeFile – a program providing free state and federal tax preparation and e-filing services to qualified New York State taxpayers.  Half of New York’s taxpayers qualify for free or reduced fees to file electronically through FreeFile. You may be eligible if you earned $58,000 or less in 2010 or if you served in the military in 2010.
