I am grateful to have been given the opportunity to work with Feed the Children in order to address the growing issue of people living in poverty. Food pantries across my district have informed me that the increasing number of individuals they feed is now more diverse than ever before.

Queens, NY, September 12, 2011-- As I attended the 9/11 memorials over the weekend throughout my district, I joined those who prayed, cried and reflected over the attacks on our city, our nation, our civilians that took place 10 years ago.
I prayed for all those lives lost, including the approximately 100 in my district, and the families they left behind.
