New York State Senator Kemp Hannon speaks on an historic agreement to build affordable housing on New York's Long Island. The bill, S.6823-A, approved 6/4/2008, requires builders to set aside a portion of new developments for working families in Nassau and Suffolk Counties, or deposit a fee into special funds that build lower-cost housing, or provide revolving loans to families and individuals who meet certain income eligibility requirements.
