Brooklyn, NY August 4, 2008 - - State Senator Kevin Parker imposes relief on property taxes on the citizens of New York and situates funding for the public education system.  In an effort to reduce the enormous burden of some of the highest property taxes in New York, Sen. Parker proposes the expansion of the “circuit breaker” approach, which is recommended by the New York State Commission on Property Tax Relief.

Program Director and Seniors Eagerly Accepts Funds to Improve Facility

Brooklyn, NY - July 30, 2008-    State Senator Parker presented a check for $100,000, Wednesday July 30th, to the Glenwood Senior Center.  During the center’s peak hours, seniors gathered as they expressed their gratitude for the generous grant given by Senator Parker. Brooklyn, NY- -  State Senator Kevin Parker partnered with the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles on Friday, July 25, 2008, to offer various DMV services to his constituents.  Over ninety people pre-registered for the event and the immense turnout of pre-registered appointments and walk-ins proved that the event was much needed in the community.

LOCAL YOUTH ORGANIZATION RECEIVES MAJOR  FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION FROM SENATOR PARKER

Brooklyn, NY – A 101-year-old grandmother was among a diverse group of constituents who read Dr. King’s "I Have A Dream" Speech at a special tribute on Monday that was hosted by State Senator Kevin Parker (D-21). More than two thousand patrons attended the "Shared Dream" concert at Brooklyn College which celebrated the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. On what would have been his 79th birthday.

Free Mammogram For Women Of The 21st District

Doing his part to promote healthy living, State Senator Kevin hosted a day of free mammograms at his district office located in the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn. With the aid of the health mobile bus unit, more than 20 women were facilitated in taking the test that can save lives with the early detection of breast cancer. Women over the age of 40 who have not had a mammogram in the past year were encouraged to take advantage of this excellent opportunity by making appointments and taking the test.
