Brooklyn, NY- To kick off the annual six-week free summer events series, Senator Parker partners with the United States Department of State New York Passport Agency to assist would-be travelers with one on one U.S. Passport application assistance. Community residents can have their application packages reviewed for completeness without the need for an appointment at a local post office. In addition, they will receive general information about the passport application process and other Department of State programs geared toward travelers.

Glyger G. Beach is a man of many achievements – both in his military service and in his community – who believes in not only serving ones country, but God and family. Upon completion of training courses, Mr. Beach was deployed to Iraq where he was assigned as Chaplain of the 301st Area Support Group. He had a total of sixty-five personnel working with him to provide area religious support to an entire population of 40,000.For his military service, Mr. Beach received numerous awards including: the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Superior Unit Award, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and many others.

(Brooklyn, NY) Today Senator Parker joined his Senate colleagues in another charge to assist Main Street New Yorkers by releasing the Workforce Reinvestment Plan which includes 11 pieces of legislation sponsored by Senators Parker, Kennedy, Perkins, Espaillat, Montgomery, Stewart-Cousins, and Maziarz. The plan covers a broad range of employment issues including training programs, workforce credits, alternative investment and reinvestment funds, educational opportunities, green jobs initiatives, nondiscrimination legislation and tax credits. Senator Parker sponsored three of the eleven pieces of legislation proposed.
(Brooklyn, NY) Today Senator Parker led his Senate colleagues in releasing an alternative energy package with seven pieces of legislation to address the affordability crisis faced by main street New Yorkers. The legislative package included bills from Senators Parker, Peralta, Grisanti, and Maziarz covering a broad range of alternatives including prohibiting more than one increase in the price of fuel in any 24-hour period, providing tax incentives to individuals who purchase green vehicles, creating solar energy projects which project thousands of new jobs for New York, and expanding the Green EZ-Pass discount.
