Driver Licenses Issue Takes Center Stage In Brooklyn

Brooklyn, NY – A cross-section of eager residents attended a Brooklyn town hall meeting to hear firsthand information about the new Department of Motor Vehicles policy surrounding the issuance of New York State driver licenses. Brooklyn Residents Embrace Opportunity To Become U.s. Citizens

Brooklyn, NY – Close to 50 residents from across the borough of Brooklyn and beyond took advantage of the opportunity to apply for US citizenship during a recent campaign hosted by State Senator Kevin Parker. The Citizenship Drive campaign which assisted permanent residents with all of the procedures necessary to apply for citizenship was hosted in conjunction with NALEO Educational Fund. Senator Parker who -- in addition to his numerous assignments in the Senate also heads the Democratic Task Force on New Americans -- has been an aggressive advocate of the rights of immigrants.

Senator Parker Supports Bills To Aid In The Fight Against Global Terrorism

Brooklyn, NY -- State Senator Kevin Parker has demonstrated his concern about global terrorism by co-sponsoring two similar bills that authorize the New York State Comptroller to refrain from investing the funds of the retirement system in corporate or financial entities that do business with or in nations that support and sponsor terrorism. The first bill was introduced by Senator Jeff Klein and is an amendment to the Retirement and Social Security Law.

Senate Democrats Propose Overhaul Of 421-a Affordable Housing Program

Albany—State Senator Kevin Parker has joined with the New York State Senate Democratic Caucus and leading housing advocates in efforts to modernize the 421-a tax incentive program for new affordable housing. Prom Dreams Come Alive In Brooklyn
