West Hempstead, N.Y. – State Senator Lee M. Zeldin (R, C, I- Shirley) joined his legislative colleagues and Governor Andrew M. Cuomo this past Monday, December 12, 2011, as the Governor signed into law a new measure to eliminate the MTA Payroll Tax for approximately 80 percent of all employers currently paying the tax. Thousands more will see a reduction.

Senator Zeldin Votes to Repeal MTA Payroll Tax for Self-Employed Individuals

New York State Senator Lee M. Zeldin (R, C, I- Shirley) speaks on the Senate Floor in support of Senate Bill 7165-A, sponsored by Senator Greg Ball, that will repeal the MTA Tax for self-employed individuals earning $250,000 a year or less. The bill passed the New York State Senate on June 20, 2012.
