(Albany, NY)- Over the last 40 years, the previous Majority created a legislative process that stifled debate, eliminated accountability and denied participation from rank and file senators and the general public. Today, the Senate’s Temporary Committee on Rules and Administration Reform will unveil its much-anticipated report detailing proposals the Senate will take to end that era of dysfunction.
Austin Shafran, Press Secretary for State Senate Majority Leader Malcolm A. Smith, will hold a pre-session press briefing today to discuss priority issues facing members this week, including committee and legislative agendas.
Thank you to all of those who participated in the New York State Senate's fist ever online Town Hall. Since we're always striving to serve the people of New York better, and this was our first attempt at an event like this, we would appreciate your feedback on how we can improve the experience.
