Senator Malcolm A. Smith Announces Workshop On Economic Development "Mega Projects"

Saying "Recent large-scale development proposals across New York State have the potential to involve numerous local, small and minority and women-owned business contractors and firms," State Senator Malcolm A. Smith (D- Queens) today announced that he will hold a workshop addressing these issues during the 34th Annual Conference of the New York State Association of Black, Puerto Rican and Hispanic Legislators.

State Senator Malcom A. Smith Bestows Grant On Kew Gardens Hills Civic Association

State Senator Malcom A. Smith (D-Queens) announced today that the Kew Gardens Hills Civic Association (KGHCA) are the recipients of a grant which will provide funding for the beautification of three public spaces. The spaces chosen include the Haym Solomon Triangle, the Rabbi Usher Kischblum Triangle, and Freedom Square Park. Senator Smith, who was thrilled to be able to provide this grant to the Association, said "Since it’s creation, more than 60 years ago, the KGHCA has dedicated themselves to the caring of local parks.

Senator Smith Announces Newly Improved Property Tax Bills To Be Sent To All New York City Property Owners

Senator Malcom A. Smith (D-Queens) announced today that the Department of Finance has developed a new way to distribute property tax billing information to New York City residents. The improved document is called a "Statement of Account" and it is a more comprehensive version of the old property tax bills that residents are used to receiving. "I am thrilled that the Finance Department has developed a system to not only improve but to simplify the property tax billing system for New York City residents." said Senator Smith.
