Senator Mark Grisanti (R, I-60) today announced he will join Orchard Park Town Supervisor Patrick Keem and Time Warner Cable in hosting a free electronics recycling event on Saturday, April 19 in the town of Orchard Park.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Orchard Park Senior High School, located at 4040 Baker Road in the Town of Orchard Park.
The electronics recycling drop off will offer professional disposal of unused and obsolete items to help ensure they do not end up harming the environment. Computer monitors, printers, fax machines, home telephones, televisions, video game consoles, laptop computers, scanners, cellular telephones and MP3 players are among the items that will be collected that day and properly disposed.
Beginning in 2013, legislation requires all homeowners receiving a Basic STAR property tax exemption to register with the New York State Tax Department in order to receive the exemption in 2014 and subsequent years. This is part of a new initiative to protect New Yorkers against inappropriate or fraudulent STAR exemptions.
