The “UB 2020 Flexibility and Economic Growth Act,” which gives the University at Buffalo more flexibility and support in terms of its financial operations, will help make the UB 2020 vision a reality. For our community, that vision holds the promise of new investment, job creation, and a stronger, more vibrant economy.
University officials estimate that the UB 2020 plan will lead to a $2 billion investment into our region. They also project that it will generate thousands of new construction and university-based jobs.
My bill, which was passed by the Senate with overwhelming bi-partisan support, now goes to the State Assembly for consideration. Now more than ever, our community needs to show its support for UB 2020.
