New York State Senate Promoting Public Assistance Integrity Act

The New York State Senate will act today on the “Public Assistance Integrity Act,” sponsored by Senator Tom Libous (R-C-I, Binghamton) and Co-sponsored by Senator Mark Grisanti (R,I, Buffalo)  that would help cut down on the flagrant abuse of EBT (Electronic Benefit Transfer) cards by prohibiting welfare recipients from using cash assistance to purchase tobacco, alcoholic beverages, lottery tickets or to gamble.

Grisanti-Sponsored Bill Aimed To Protect Dogs And Cats From Abusive Treatment By Pet Dealers Signed Into Law

today announced Bill S.3955A has been signed into law, legislation that
protects dogs and cats from abusive treatment by pet dealers in New York State.
The law amends the agriculture and markets law related to administrative

Public Assistance Integrity Act Legislation Co-Sponsored by Senator Grisanti Passes State Senate

The New York State Senate passed the Public Assistance Integrity Act (S966). Senator Mark Grisanti co-sponsored the legislation, and this is the third consecutive time it has passed the NY State Senate.

“I am proud to co-sponsor this legislation which would protect your tax dollars and stop the abuse in the welfare program. Using your tax dollars to support a transaction at a liquor store, casino or strip club is not only inappropriate but it goes against the intent of the welfare program,” said Senator Mark Grisanti.

The legislation would cut down on the flagrant abuse of EBT (Electronic Benefit Transfer) cards by prohibiting welfare recipients from using cash assistance to purchase tobacco, alcoholic beverages, lottery tickets or to gamble.
