My office has been contacted by the American Italian Cancer Foundation regarding the scheduled mammograms for April 12th and 13th. Due to unavoidable technical difficulties with the equipment on the Mobile Mammography Van the events need to be rescheduled. I will be in touch with new dates in the next couple of weeks. Brooklyn- Senator Marty Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) together with the Chinese American Partnership Inc. has announced plans to host the 9th Annual Lunar New Year celebration at New Utrecht High School, located at 1601-80th Street in Brooklyn, on Sunday, March 6, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The celebration, which is free and open to the public, will include cultural performances, food, and entertainment.

National Memory Screening Day for Alzheimer's Awareness Month

Approximately 5.1 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease; in New York alone, it is estimated that more than 320,000 aged 65 and older are currently affected.  On November 16th is National Memory Screening Day and free screenings will be offered at Lutheran Family Health Centers, Services for Older Adults at 9000 Shore Rd from 10 am to 2 pm. National Commemorative Candle Lighting for Alzheimers Awareness Month

MTA Rally and Court Date

Brooklyn - State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) will host a rally and protest against the Metropolitan Transit Authority bus service reductions on Tuesday, October 19, 2010, starting at 5:30 p.m., at the corner of Bay Ridge Avenue and 3rd Avenue.

 

Senator Golden is organizing the rally in advance of the October 21st State Supreme Court hearing where arguments of the lawsuit filed against the Metropolitan Transit Authority will be presented to Judge Kenneth Sherman by expert counsel hired by Senator Golden
