Brooklyn – State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn), in partnership with Xaverian High School, today is announcing plans to host Brooklyn’s 8th Annual Senior Idol, a popular contest that draws upon the talent of the senior citizens of Kings County, vying to be crowned “Brooklyn’s Senior Idol” this Fall.
Brooklyn residents age 50 or older are invited to register and audition on Monday, September 8, 2014, starting at 4:00 p.m. in the Xaverian High School auditorium, 7100 Shore Road (handicapped accessibility available at 71st Street door). Senior citizens trying out for this singing competition should bring a CD or cassette tape accompaniment. A piano is available for any contestant interested and participants are welcome to bring a guitar.
Brooklyn – State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) will host Brooklyn’s 8th Annual Senior Idol contest on Saturday, October 25th, starting at 7pm, at Xaverian High School located at 7100 Shore Road.
Bobby Valli, brother of legend Frankie Valli, will serve as the celebrity judge for this year’s show, and will perform some of the “Four Seasons” greatest hits during intermission.
Fourteen finalists will be performing a wide variety of songs including Italian Opera and some of the greatest hits of all time. One winner will be named "Senior Idol" and awarded a $500 prize sponsored by Investor's Bank.
