LOCAL LEGISLATORS, PHARMACY OWNERS CELEBRATE PROTECTION OF CONSUMER PHARMACY CHOICE

Today, Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis (R,C-Brooklyn/Staten Island) and Senator Marty Golden (R,C,I-Brooklyn) joined with local pharmacists in hailing the passage of S3510B/A5502, which will prevent health insurers from mandating that customers purchase prescription drugs from mail-order pharmacies.

Mail-order pharmacies present many problems to consumers and local business owners alike, including issues of job loss, unreliable service, and the diversion of prescription drugs onto the streets.

Monday, April 2 is World Autism Awareness Day

Monday, April 2, 2012 is the fifth annual World Autism Awareness Day.

And the entire month of April is "Autism Spectrum Disorder Awareness Month" in New York State.

These important dates provide us with a very special opportunity to continue our efforts to enhance public awareness about autism, and to work together to ensure that families and individuals have the support they need to overcome the serious challenges that autism can present.

SENATOR GOLDEN PARTNERS WITH THE VISITING NURSE SERVICE TO OFFER FREE FLU SHOTS

Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C, 22nd District) in conjunction with the Visiting Nurse Service of New York, is announcing that he will be offering free flu shots by appointment only for senior citizens, uninsured residents, and those who the Health Department is encouraging to get the annual flu vaccine, at three events during the month of October.

Free flu shots will be available to the community on:

Thursday, October 4, 2012, 10:00 a.m.- 2:00 pm Bay Ridge Manor, located at 476-76th Street

Tuesday, October 9, 2012, 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. St. Simon and Jude located at 294 Avenue T
