Albany- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) today is announcing that he has cosponsored legislation in the New York State Senate, S. 6645, that would create the Metropolitan Transit Authority Interim Finance Authority.
Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) today released the following statement urging the New York State Board of Regents to maintain the existing high-school Regents examination requirements in New York State:
“I urge the New York State Board of Regents to immediately take the the proposal that would eliminate as many as 13 of the 17 high school Regents examinations, off the table. Regents exams in such subjects as social studies, foreign languages, science and math, must continue to be given in New York State schools.
"I am disappointed that ABC Disney pulled the signal, denying millions of New York area households the ability to see WABC-TV. It is time for both parties to put consumers first, and therefore I am calling on ABC Disney and Cablevision to agree to a binding arbitration process to resolve this matter. It is imperative that consumers be held harmless during this process by having the signal restored immediately."
New York State Senate Republicans today joined Richmond County District Attorney Dan Donovan in Albany to unveil the Domestic Violence Act of 2010, a comprehensive effort to strengthen the State’s porous and ineffective domestic violence laws.
Among other things, the initiative would for the first time ever create a specific crime of domestic abuse in the State penal law and provide law enforcement with greater tools to stamp out domestic violence.

Republican State Senators Dale Volker, Marty Golden, Frank Padavan and Andrew Lanza today called on the Paterson administration’s State Division of Parole Services to reverse its dangerous new policy allowing convicted drug, sex and other violent offenders out on parole to remain free even if they fail a drug test or commit other illegal actions which violate the terms of their parole.
Incentives Could Create Thousands of New Jobs; U.S. Senate Passes Similar Plan
State Senate Republican Leader Dean Skelos, Senator Marty Golden and members of the Senate Republican Conference announced today that legislation to create thousands of new jobs and turn around the state’ economy has been introduced. The jobs plan provides tax credits to businesses that create new jobs, eliminates the state corporate franchise tax for small businesses, and rolls back the personal income tax surcharge that hit small businesses last year.

Brooklyn- Senator Marty Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn), together with the Chinese American Partnership, today announced plans to host their Annual Lunar New Year celebration on Sunday, March 7, 2010, at New Utrecht High School, located at 1601-80th Street in Brooklyn.

Kicks-Off On-line Petition Drive To Protest Withholding of Tax Refunds

Golden (R-C, Brooklyn) today is announcing that he has cosponsored legislation introduced by Senator George Winner, S. 3985, that requires the Commissioner of the New York State Taxation and Finance to provide for the payment of State tax refunds within 30 days of the Department’s receipt of a taxpayer’s tax return unless there is a discrepancy.

Brooklyn - State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) today is announcing that he has awarded $1.2 million in capital funding to six schools in his district.
Senator Golden has awarded $200,000 to the following schools in Districts 20, 21 and 22 including Public School 215, Intermediate School 278, Public School 112, Intermediate School 187, Public School 104 and Public School 185. The capital grants have been allocated to each school to support a variety of projects including labs, various infrastructure projects, and computers.
