MAMMOGRAMS SAVE LIVES: GOLDEN PROMOTES ADELPHI’S NY STATEWIDE BREAST CANCER HOTLINE AND SUPPORT PROGRAM

Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden today has joined with the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline and Support Program in their annual Mother’s Day breast cancer awareness campaign to urge women to get mammograms.

Senator Golden stated, “Mother’s Day is a significant time to remind women to get mammograms. I hope that this Mother’s Day women will take the time to make an appointment for a mammogram. Approximately 95 percent of all mammograms prove to be normal.”

Chamber's HealthWorks Program Logs Big Numbers

The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce's low-cost health insurance program, Brooklyn HealthWorks, is proving it's the little engine that could! The program created for Brooklyn's small business community now insures more than 540 businesses including over 2,540 employees and their dependents. These record numbers come at a time when enrollment in other regions and other programs have stayed flat or have declined.
