Brooklyn- State Senator Marty Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) today is announcing that he has begun to circulate two petitions in response to the Metropolitan Transit Authority’s planned devastating services reductions to bus service in his district.
Senator Golden has authored two petitions, one opposing service cuts to the B31 in Marine Park and Gerritsen Beach and one opposing the complete elimination of the B37 bus route, as well as weekend service on the X 27 and X 28 bus routes. The petitions also oppose the planned elimination of free student metro cards.
Brooklyn- State Senator Marty Golden has announced that he will provide free income tax preparation services, for the 13th year, to senior citizens and residents of his district earning less than $30,000. Appointments will be available at his district office located at 7408-5th Avenue, from February 4th through April 15th, every Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on Saturdays, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
New York- The State Senate passed landmark legislation drastically increasing the penalty for any person who drives intoxicated with a child passenger. Two recent fatal incidents involving intoxicated drivers with child passengers have highlighted the need for stronger measures to prevent or punish persons who drive intoxicated with children as passengers.
Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden is announcing that he will be hosting a Bay Ridge/Dyker Heights town hall meeting on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. in the Old School Hall at St. Ephrem’s, located at 7415 Fort Hamilton Parkway in Brooklyn.
Brooklyn- State Senator Marty Golden today announced plans for the 2009 Halloween Walk & Fair scheduled for Saturday, October 31, 2009 beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Owl’s Head Park, located at 67th Street and Colonial Road.
The 15th Annual event will feature free of charge: The Haunted Walk, the Fairytale Forest, a pumpkin patch, a costume contest and much more. The event will also feature rides for the children, pony rides, face painting and “Dracula’s Food Court”.

Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) will partner with the SHARE Cancer Support Group to host an informational forum designed to work within the community to reduce the mortality rate of women's cancer in New York City on Monday, October 19, 2009, at 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Grace Auditorium at 385 Avenue W.
Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C, 22nd District) in conjunction with the Visiting Nurse Service, will offer 400 free flu shots to the community on Thursday, October 8, 2009 from 10:00 a.m.- 3:00 pm at the Bay Ridge Manor, located at 476-76th Street.

Senator Martin J. Golden (R,C,I- Brooklyn) has called for the Governor to include legislation that would allow voters to consider a constitutional convention as early as this November. Golden has introduced S.6065 which would limit costs to taxpayers for a constitutional convention as well as encouraging maximum citizen participation.
