Senator Mike Nozzolio Recognizes Jonathan Ray as 2013 New York State Youth of the Year

New York State Senator Mike Nozzolio recently recognized Jonathan Ray of Geneva with a 2013 New York State Youth of the Year award. Senator Nozzolio also honored Jonathan with a special New York State Resolution. Jonathan is a student at G...eneva High School, where he excels academically, and plays both football and lacrosse. Jonathan also serves our community as a volunteer tutor and mentor at the Geneva Boys and Girls Club.

Senator Nozzolio Recognizes Senior Citizens of the Year

Albany-Senator Mike Nozzolio recently recognized Dorothy DeMay as Wayne County Senior Citizen of the Year and Angela Jones as Seneca County Senior Citizen of the Year. Senator Nozzolio joined local seniors at the State Capital to celebrate New York Senior Citizens Day.  Dorothy and Angela were recognized with other honorees from across New York State for their outstanding contributions to our community through their volunteer work.

Senator Nozzolio Urges Individuals to Receive Meningitis Vaccination

 

New York State Senator Mike Nozzolio is urging everyone, especially high school and college students, be vaccinated for bacterial meningitis this spring.  Recent warnings by the New York State Department of Health indicate that a new strain of meningitis – that is especially lethal, has been detected in New York.

Senator Nozzolio Shadowed at the State Capitol by Local High School Students

Senator Nozzolio was shadowed recently at the State Capitol by Claudia Mendoza-Lemus of Geneva and Agnes Csaki of Lansing.  Claudia and Agnes were in Albany to participate in the 13th Annual "Students Inside Albany" conference, sponsored by the League of Women Voters of New York State.  The program is designed to increase high school student's awareness of their responsibility to participate in their government - at every level - and to encourage their involvement.

Senator Nozzolio honors Myrtle Bassage of the Webster Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary

Webster- Senator Mike Nozzolio recently presented a special New York State Citation honoring Myrtle Bassage as the longest serving and founding member of the Webster Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Assemblyman Mark Johns joined the Senator in making the presentation.
