Senator Nozzolio presents special New York State Resolution to Gino Alberici of Port Byron

Port Byron- Senator Mike Nozzolio recently presented a special New York State Resolution honoring Gino Alberici’s 34 years of dedicated service as a Social Studies teacher in the Port Byron Central School District and he was also the Head Coach of the Port Byron High School football team for over 32 years. Last year, the Port Byron Central School District honored Gino Alberici by naming the field after their long-time coach. Senator Nozzolio also helped to secure the necessary funding to purchase a new scoreboard which bears Gino Alberici’s name.

Senator Nozzolio attends Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce legislative breakfast

Auburn- Senator Mike Nozzolio recently joined Senator Jim Seward, Assemblyman Bob Oaks, and Assemblyman Gary Finch at the Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce legislative breakfast. Senator Nozzolio provided members with an update on some of the key issues facing the State Senate this year. Senator Nozzolio discussed his recommendation that the State use the $3.3 billion settlement from a French Bank to totally eliminate the Gap Elimination Adjustment (GEA), fund critically important road and infrastructure improvements and further reduce the tax burden on New York's overburdened taxpayers.

Senator Nozzolio welcomes Cornell University's Head Football Coach Dave Archer and his team to the Mynderse Academy football field in Seneca Falls

Seneca Falls- Senator Mike Nozzolio recently had the honor of welcoming Cornell University's Head Football Coach Dave Archer and his team to the Mynderse Academy football field in Seneca Falls. Senator Nozzolio is an alumni of Cornell University and played football on the Cornell Big Red. Local fans had the opportunity to watch the Cornell scrimmage and meet members of the team after the scrimmage.

Senator Nozzolio visits the newly opened Webster Dairy Queen

Webster- Senator Mike Nozzolio recently visited the newly opened Dairy Queen on Hard Road in Webster where he had the opportunity to congratulate owner Mark Goldberg on the addition of a third location in Monroe County. The new Dairy Queen will employ over 100 people and the business will help to support the revitalization of the local economy and the Monroe County region.

Senator Nozzolio visits the Phelps Community Memorial Library's new S.T.E.A.M. Lab

Phelps- Senator Mike Nozzolio recently visited the Phelps Community Memorial Library where he had the opportunity to view the new S.T.E.A.M. Lab room. The S.T.E.A.M. Lab, which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) will provide full access to innovative and creative tools and technologies for people of all ages. Senator Nozzolio assisted the library by providing the state funding that allowed the library to expand its programs and services. Last year, Senator Nozzolio was named a “Top Supporter” by New Yorkers for Better Libraries for his support of legislation to improve our local library systems.

Senator Nozzolio visits Phelps Arts Center and Stan Munro's "Toothpick World" Exhibit

Phelps- Senator Mike Nozzolio recently visited the Phelps Art Center where he had the opportunity to meet Stan Munro, an artist who works solely with toothpicks and has created several very unique and noteworthy pieces. His exhibit, "Toothpick World" consists of over 100 replicas of significant world importance. The artist was recently recognized in the Guinness Book of World Records for having the tallest toothpick structure. The Phelps Arts Center is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Senator Nozzolio attends Geneva 9/11 Ceremony

Geneva- Senator Mike Nozzolio recently joined Assemblyman Brian Kolb and Geneva City officials to commemorate the 13th anniversary of September 11th and the worst terrorist attack on American soil. Senator Nozzolio addressed the need to remember and acknowledge the lives of those who lost their lives that day as well as to recognize those individuals who continue to fight and sacrifice for our Nation’s freedom and safety around the world. Senator Nozzolio also recognized Joanne Galvin and her late husband Steve Galvin for the design of their 9/11 flag to commemorate the victims of September 11, 2001.

Webster Village Days is an annual two-day event promoted by the Webster Business Improvement District. Ovid- Senator Mike Nozzolio recently presented a special NYS Resolution which he authored to David Griffith upon the occasion of his retirement after 47 years of distinguished service to the Edith B. Ford Memorial Library in Ovid. David has served as the custodian since the Library moved to its present building and location in 1961.

Senator Nozzolio presents proclamation to Nancy Sarratori of Seneca Falls

Senator Mike Nozzolio recently presented a special NYS Resolution to Nancy Sarratori, a local hero within the Seneca Falls community. Born in Realmonte, Italy, in 1932, Nancy emigrated to the United States with her parents, Vincenzo and Nunziata Fiannaca. Through a belief in hard work and perseverance, she has become an exemplary American citizen, and a treasured member of her community.

Palmyra- Senator Mike Nozzolio recently visited the Wayne County Fair in Palmyra, where he met with Pam Ferranti, President of the Wayne County Fair Board of Directors, as well as members of the Fair Court including Wayne County Dairy Princesses and Apprentices. Senator Nozzolio acknowledged the hard work and dedication of the hundreds vendors, volunteers and local organizations that help to make this annual event such a success. The Fair brings in visitors from around the region as well as local residents and helps to support the local economy.

Senator Nozzolio attends dedication of the new Farmington Justice Court Building

Farmington- Senator Mike Nozzolio took part in the dedication of the new Farmington Justice Court Building. The building was built using funds from the State’s VLT Impact Aid program, which provides over $1.5 million to assist the town of Farmington and Ontario County with the costs of maintaining Video Lottery Terminals (VLTs) at the Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack.

Senator Nozzolio attends Finger Lakes Construction open house

Clyde- Senator Mike Nozzolio attended the Finger Lakes Construction open house where he helped to cut the ribbon on the new Structural Insulated Panel. Finger Lakes Construction was founded in 1969 by Frank Brisky. Taking over as President in 1982, son Bob has taken the company from a small family business to a multi-million dollar enterprise and expanded from one to four locations.

Senator Nozzolio participates in ITT Goulds Pumps Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Seneca Falls- Senator Mike Nozzolio was a featured speaker at the formal ceremony at Goulds Pumps to announce the completion of their $27 million expansion and the creation of 50 new jobs. The 89,000-square-foot facility includes facilities for the testing and packaging of highly engineered pump systems for the oil, gas, petrochemical and mining industries.

Senator Mike Nozzolio participates in ceremony to announce Ontario County’s agreement with RGRTA

Canandaigua- Senator Mike Nozzolio recently participated in the announcement of RGRTA’s agreement with Ontario County for bus service. Ontario is the eighth county to join the service providing an inter-county transportation system, which also includes Seneca, Monroe, and Wayne counties.

Senator Nozzolio presents special New York State Resolution to recipients of the 2014 Seneca Falls Community Service Award

Seneca Falls- Senator Mike Nozzolio recently presented a special New York State Resolution, which was formally adopted in the New York State Senate, honoring Peter and Gretchen Koch as the recipients of the 2014 Seneca Falls Community Service Award. The award is given out annually during Convention Days in Seneca Falls. Peter and Gretchen were recognized for their service to the Seneca Falls Historical Society, St. Patrick’s School, the Seneca County Children’s Committee, the Seneca Falls Library, and the House of Concern.
