Senator Mike Nozzolio recently attended the Geneva High School Class of 2011’s pasta dinner. The proceeds from the event will help to support the graduating class’ substance-free graduation party. The Class of 2011 can be very proud of the exceptional dinner that they hosted.

Senator Mike Nozzolio recently had the opportunity to meet with the brave members of the Fayette Fire Department. Senator Nozzolio thanked them for their service, discussed the needs of the Department and inspected their new equipment, including a state-of-the-art thermal imaging camera.

Senator Mike Nozzolio recently spoke at the annual Kiwanis Club Celebrity Roast where Fran Barbieri was recognized for her service to the Seneca Falls Community. Fran has served on hundreds of committees and been a part of organizations like the Seneca Falls Historical Society, the Seneca Falls/Waterloo Kiwanis Club, St. Patrick’s Church, the National Women’s Hall of Fame, the Seneca County Women’s Coalition and the Seneca County Council of the Arts.

Senator Mike Nozzolio recently participated in the opening celebration of the new Autism Diagnostic and Evaluation Clinic at the Happiness House in Geneva. Autism impacts thousands of families in our region and it is important to provide the highest level of services to both the individuals with autism and their families. The services that the Geneva Happiness House provides will serve as a blueprint for other providers across our State and our Nation.

The Webster Challenger Bowl is a remarkable flag football program for developmentally challenged young adults. Senator Mike Nozzolio recently attended the final flag football game of the season to watch these outstanding young men and women work together and learn about sportsmanship and teamwork.
Senator Mike Nozzolio recently had the opportunity to meet with members of the Clyde VFW Post 947 and thank them for their dedicated service to our Country. The Clyde VFW is an important part of Clyde and its members support our community and our local veterans in countless ways.

Senator Mike Nozzolio recently celebrated the 200th Anniversary of the Moravia Masonic Temple, Sylvan Lodge No. 41. The Moravia Masonic Temple has been a staple of the Moravia Community since it was granted its official charter on November 27th, 1813, with New York State Governor Dewitt Clinton proudly serving as the Grand Master. Senator Nozzolio was honored to celebrate this historic occasion with the current leadership of the Freemasons.

The Jennings Department Store has been proudly serving the Moravia community for 150 years. Senator Mike Nozzolio recently presented owner Mark Wood with a special New York State Resolution in recognition of this special occasion.

Senator Nozzolio recently helped to reopen the Wayne County Fire Training Center. Senator Nozzolio was instrumental in helping Wayne County to secure resources necessary to help renovate the facility, which is now equipped with fully insulated burn rooms so local firefighters can adequately train for fire emergencies.

Senator Mike Nozzolio recently met with the members of Geneva General Hospital’s administrative staff to discuss their current needs and future plans for the hospital. Geneva General provides high quality medical services to our region and Senator Nozzolio looks forward to working with the hospital staff in the future.

Senator Mike Nozzolio was recently the guest speaker at the Wayne County Firemen's Association annual dinner where he presented David Kreutzer, a volunteer fireman for the Williamson Fire Department, with a Meritorious Service Award for his 20 years of active service with the Williamson Fire Department. Senator Nozzolio also recognized Joe and Anna Buttaccio with a formal New York State Resolution honoring them as Citizens of the Year for their heroism for saving the life of an individual who was trapped in his burning car.
Senator Mike Nozzolio recently had the opportunity to honor the late Pearl Kilmer Wilson, who in 1985 campaigned to save the “Mail It” program, a service for large print books for homebound and disabled seniors. Senator Nozzolio was pleased to recognize Pearl’s efforts on behalf of the Port Byron community and to present Library Director Evelyn Taylor with a special New York State flag.
Recently, Senator Nozzolio met with members of the Walworth Fire Department to acknowledge their service to the community.

Senator Mike Nozzolio recently held a ceremony at the site of the future Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery to unveil the new Sampson Veterans Memorial Highway signs. The new signs will be placed at the intersection of 96A and 5 & 20 in Geneva and near the intersection of State Route 414 and 96A in Ovid. Senator Nozzolio has been instrumental in the establishment of the Veterans Memorial Cemetery and sponsored the legislation that dedicated part of State Route 96 leading to the cemetery as the Sampson Veterans Memorial Highway.

Columbus Day is a day to reflect on the struggles and achievements of early Americans and the rich history that eventually brought us to today. Senator Mike Nozzolio recently spoke at the Columbus Day celebration in Auburn and observed the raising of the Italian and American Flags in honor of those men and women who laid the groundwork for our Nation.
