Senator Mike Nozzolio recently held a ceremony at the site of the future Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery to unveil the new Sampson Veterans Memorial Highway signs. The new signs will be placed at the intersection of 96A and 5 & 20 in Geneva and near the intersection of State Route 414 and 96A in Ovid. Senator Nozzolio has been instrumental in the establishment of the Veterans Memorial Cemetery and sponsored the legislation that dedicated part of State Route 96 leading to the cemetery as the Sampson Veterans Memorial Highway.

Senator Mike Nozzolio recently met with the members of the American Legion Post 336 in Seneca Falls. Senator Nozzolio was honored to thank them for their service and the work that they do on behalf of veterans in our region.

Columbus Day is a day to reflect on the struggles and achievements of early Americans and the rich history that eventually brought us to today. Senator Mike Nozzolio recently spoke at the Columbus Day celebration in Auburn and observed the raising of the Italian and American Flags in honor of those men and women who laid the groundwork for our Nation.

Senator Mike Nozzolio recently had the opportunity to meet with members of the Phelps Fire Department and thank them for their tremendous service to the community. Senator Nozzolio inspected their new equipment, including stretchers, defibrillators, and advanced life support equipment.

Our emergency rescue workers put their lives on the line to protect their communities every single day. That is why it is important that we provide them with all of the equipment and tools necessary to protect us and their own safety. Recently, Senator Nozzolio met with the Fairville Fire Department at their open house to inspect their emergency equipment as well as their off-road rescue vehicle. ATV’s such as the Fairville Fire Department’s have been used all across the State to save lives in places where other rescue vehicles could not have reached.

Senator Mike Nozzolio recently presented Bill Boulter of Webster with a special New York State Resolution, commemorating his diligent service to the Webster community. Bill is an accomplished businessman who has dedicated a tremendous amount of time to helping other businesses grow and thrive in the region as a member of the Webster Chamber of Commerce.

Senator Mike Nozzolio was recently awarded the 2010 Patriot of the Year Award by the Wayne County Division of the Shooters Committee on Political Education (SCOPE). Senator Nozzolio was recognized for his dedication and diligence to the Second Amendment Rights of law-abiding citizens of New York State.

Senator Mike Nozzolio recently helped to break ground at the new modified water district in the Town of Geneva. The new water district, which will encompass parts of Braewood Lane, County Road 6, and Hastings Road, will provide much-needed municipal water to the residents of this community. Senator Nozzolio played a critical role in securing the necessary funding to establish this important project.

Senator Mike Nozzolio recently had the opportunity to meet with members of the Magee Fire Department to see their new fire and emergency rescue equipment. As first responders for accidents on the nearby New York State Thruway, this equipment is critical when seconds count and a person’s life is at stake. Senator Nozzolio was very proud to have helped the Department to purchase this equipment. Their dedication and commitment to protect the safety of their community is truly outstanding.

Senator Mike Nozzolio recently presented Lt. Mike Colacino with a special New York State Resolution honoring his retirement and honorable service to the Canandaigua Police Department. Lt. Colacino has dedicated his life to serving and protecting the public, not only as Lieutenant, but as a volunteer for the Newark Fire Department, and as a D.A.R.E officer.

Senator Mike Nozzolio recently presented Lillian Gillotti with a special New York State Resolution honoring her on her 100th birthday. Lillian is the loving mother of two children, grandmother of four, and great-grandmother of six. Her passion for her family and her community has been felt by countless individuals and Senator Nozzolio was honored to celebrate Lillian’s 100th birthday with her.

Senator Mike Nozzolio recently spoke at the groundbreaking ceremony for Zotos International’s wind turbine project. Zotos is at the forefront of green innovation, embarking on the largest wind turbine project by a manufacturer in the country. Senator Nozzolio was proud to support this project and commended Zotos for their dedication to creating jobs, growing the local economy, and protecting the environment.

Senator Mike Nozzolio recently spoke before the Farmington Chamber of Commerce at their annual awards banquet. At the banquet, Senator Nozzolio had the opportunity to present Rose Kleman with a New York State flag that was flown over the Capitol in Albany in honor of her late husband Robert, who dedicated much of his career to strengthening and growing local Farmington businesses through the Chamber of Commerce.

Senator Mike Nozzolio recently attended last weekend’s 43rd Annual Canal Town Days Festival in Palmyra, which was a great opportunity to support the Town’s unique history and role in the development of the Erie Canal. Hundreds of locals and visitors had the chance to visit businesses and tourist sites and learn more about the Town of Palmyra.
