Senator Nozzolio Opposes Tax And Fee Increases Directed At Sportsmen

Recently, I had the opportunity to speak before the members of the Between the Lakes Friends of the NRA organization and to share my strong opposition to the increase in licensing fees that have been unfairly leveled against sportsmen in New York State.

New York State Resolution For 20 Years Of Service

Wolcott - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently recognized Huron Town Clerk Shirley Eygnor for over 20 years of public service to the Town of Huron. Senator Nozzolio presented Shirley with a special New York State Senate Resolution commemorating her 20 years of service to the residents in the Town of Huron.

American Legion Awards Senator Nozzolio Certificate Of Appreciation

Victory - Red Creek’s American Legion Peterson-Hall Post #436 recently recognized Senator Mike Nozzolio for his efforts in sponsoring legislation to rename Route 38 as the "Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway of Valor". The Legion Post presented Senator Nozzolio with a Certificate of Appreciation during the Town of Victory’s Veteran's Day celebration.

Supporting Students At St. Francis-St. Stephen School

Geneva - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently met with students from St. Francis-St. Stephen School during Geneva's annual ziti dinner. Profits from the dinner will help to sponsor the students' trip to Washington, D.C. later this year.

Montessori Students Providing Halloween Treats For Our Military

Contributing to public service, and providing special attention to those who serve in our military are two issues I value highly. Webster Montessori students continue to impress me by selflessly donating their Halloween candy to our troops serving overseas. As in years past, I am pleased to once again assist them in their benevolence by providing the funds to ship the candy to those men and women in our armed forces.

Old Stone Schoolhouse Gets New Life As A Video Production Classroom

Union Springs - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently joined members of the Union Springs community to celebrate the official opening of the newly restored Stone Schoolhouse. Senator Nozzolio was instrumental in securing the New York State funding needed to refurbish the building which was on the verge of demolition. The building now houses a video production studio that gives students hands on experience and training.

Recognizing Those Who Serve Our Nation

Phelps - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently recognized the service of United States Marine Corporal Joshua Merkle upon his return to the states from Afghanistan. Senator Nozzolio presented Cpl. Merkle with a New York State flag that has previously been flown over the Capitol building in Albany.

Coach Jim Boeheim Joins In Congratulating Senator Mike Nozzolio On His Award For “Outstanding Service to the Citizens of the 54th District of New York State”

Sennett - Senator Mike Nozzolio was recently honored for his outstanding public service during the annual Knights of Columbus athletic dinner. Each year the committee selects an individual who has excelled in community service and athletics. The annual event benefits Tyburn Academy in Auburn. Senator Nozzolio was also presented with a special Resolution from the City of Auburn declaring Tuesday, October 21st as "Senator Mike Nozzolio Day".

A Special Resolution Honoring Geneva Police Chief Frank Pane

Geneva - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently spoke at the annual Sons of Italy dinner where he presented Geneva Police Chief Frank Pane with a special New York State Resolution that was adopted in the New York State Senate honoring Chief Pane for his designation as Man of Honor by the Order of the Sons of Italy in America, Geneva Lodge 2397.

Honoring The Memory Of A Revolutionary War Soldier

Scipio - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently participated in a ceremony to honor the memory of Private Frederick Van Liew, a Revolutionary War Patriot who settled in Cayuga county. Private Van Liew's grave in Scipio's Cornwall cemetery was given a new marker to honor his service to his country.

Fairville Fire Department’s Open House Was Entertaining And Educational

Fairville - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently expressed his continued support for our firefighters when he attended the Fairville Volunteer Fire Department’s Open House. The annual event presents a wide assortment of equipment displays and demonstrations by local fire departments.

Senator Nozzolio was taken up in the bucket of Newark’s Tower 4 by firefighter Matthew Creighton.

Senator Nozzolio Supports Job Fair For Students

Seneca Falls - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently visited the 4th annual "Finger Lakes Works... with their hands", a local job fair that provided area students the opportunity to explore careers in various skilled trades and precision manufacturing. Senator Nozzolio met with representatives of OPTIMAX, a manufacturing company located in the town of Ontario specializing in precision optical components.

Accessible Parking Completed At Williamson Free Public Library

Williamson - Senator Mike Nozzolio joined Cheryl Gravelle, Director of Williamson Free Public Library; James Peters, Town Justice; and Jim Hoffman, Williamson Supervisor in the library’s newly resurfaced and marked parking lot. Senator Nozzolio previously identified New York State funding to make easily accessible parking available for those with special needs.

Geneva - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently participated in the grand opening of the new Geneva Community Center where he was recognized for his efforts in helping to make the new Center a reality for the Geneva Community.

Senator Nozzolio Visits Butler Correctional Facility

Senator Nozzolio recently met with the staff and administrators of the Butler Minimum Security Prison to celebrate the news that the Butler facility would not be closing on October 1st as originally planned.

Under New York State law that Senator Nozzolio authored and had enacted, the Department of Corrections cannot close a prison facility without a mandatory 12 month notification process and legislative oversight. Butler was one of seven facilities slated to close this October without the legally required 12 month notification process.
