Senator Mike Nozzolio recently met with members of the New York State Motor Truck Association during their recent visit to the State Capitol and was honored to receive the “Friend of Trucking" award from the Association for his strong and unwavering support of the trucking industry. Senator Nozzolio has long recognized the significant role that the trucking industry plays in the economic viability of our region and to New York State. Trucks carry everything from heavy equipment to cars, agriculture products and produce, to the supplies that we need to operate our manufacturing companies and small businesses. Without trucks, the price of goods and services in New York State would skyrocket.
Senator Mike Nozzolio recently met with Thurman Thomas, Buffalo Bills Hall of Fame running back, during his recent visit to the State Capitol in Albany. Senator Nozzolio and Thurman Thomas discussed their shared belief in the role that athletics plays in the character and development of our young people as well as their role in their local communities. Throughout his tenure in the State Legislature, Senator Nozzolio has supported athletic programs at every level - from little league programs to college level play.
New York State Senator Mike Nozzolio proudly welcomed members of the Romulus Lady Warriors Varsity Basketball team to the State Capitol. Members of the team, their coaches, parents and school administrators were special guests of Senator Nozzolio who congratulated and honored the team for their hard work, perseverance and team work in winning the New York State Class D Championship.
“It is estimated that one out of every sixty-eight American children are affected by an autism spectrum disorder. This alarming statistic reflects a 30% increase from one in eighty-eight just two years ago. There are hundreds of families in the Finger Lakes region affected by autism,” said New York State Senator Mike Nozzolio.
Senator Mike Nozzolio welcomed local veterans to the State Capitol and shared his strong support for the “Jobs for Heroes Legislation”. This important legislation, which Senator Nozzolio co-sponsored and fought to enact will set aside 6% of all New York State contracts for businesses owned by a military service-disabled veteran, creating new employment and business opportunities for disabled veterans in our community.
